2020 F1 Season Review
First of all, I'm sorry to say something to everyone, because if you want to review an entire season of F1 in one article because of the title, I can only say that there is nothing I can do. This time, I mainly review the things that I personally think are worth reviewing/in-depth understanding of this season. Because it is mainly my personal opinion, there may be a lot of opinions and prejudices. Please forgive me.
First of all, let’s talk about the teams. There are three teams that I think are worth talking about: Pingzhi, Ferrari and Williams.
Let’s talk about Pingzhi first. In fact, when the season is halfway through, the seven-time automaker’s world champion has basically no suspense; however, I want to talk about not the automaker, but the pit crew that is as accurate as a Swiss watch. Although they did not make a pit stop within 2 seconds like Red Bull this season, they have made very few mistakes, and they can finish within 3 seconds most of the time. However, just as the clock will have a moment when it will run out of electricity and need to be oiled, this is the eighth round of this season, which is the Italian Grand Prix. If you remember, I want to talk about the Hamilton red light entering the pit. Although I don't want to say that the driver should be responsible for the pit crew, this kind of avoidable and low-level error should not happen. Of course, Russell's performance is absolutely It's worthy of being a champion, but it can only be regarded as God's will to trick people, but there are also inevitable human factors. Then talk about Ferrari, if you are a Ferrari fan, I believe you should be absolutely disappointed this season. Without him, from top to bottom to not see Ferrari's fighting spirit. From the qualifying round to the main race, everyone can see that they have been able to get by, and it is a miracle to enter Q3. Of course, the research and development of chariots is a very big issue, and this is a fact that cannot be changed on the spot, but as I said: rotten boats have three pounds of nails, the car is not weighed, and the morale of people can be regarded as a driving force, but everyone The most seen this season should be the Ferrari pit stop breaking the record. When it broke the slowest record, I believe everyone has been disheartened. When even if it takes only about 30 seconds to change the fault, Ferrari can make pit stops of more than 35 seconds many times this season, and even pit stops of 60 seconds are not uncommon. However, even Ferrari team leader Mattia Binotto said that at least the 2022 F1 major reform has a chance to regain its glory. I think that in 2021 we can only see Ferrari similar to this year's situation.
Finally, I will talk about scaring Williams, who has become a chaperone since 2014, and the team has not even scored a single point this season. But I don't want to talk about the Williams team's performance this season. (Of course, this season's DNF ratio is lower than Hass, but the results are worse than other car manufacturers, and mistakes often occur, but that's all for later.) I'd rather talk about it. It's about selling. A classic British family-run team that has owned nine world championship teams, seven drivers world championships, and participated in F1 for 43 years. It has also had many innovative and successful F1 inventions, but in the end it was sold out due to economic problems. . As a car fan, I feel very sorry, but just like life, unhappy things often happen. I believe everyone knows that F1 is definitely a bottomless abyss. If you can't win the race, it will definitely be a money-burning behavior. With the current situation of the teams, they basically do not have any financial resources to compete with other teams. Now we can only look forward to the introduction of Budget in F1 in 2021. The Williams team has the opportunity to score points in F1 after the cap financial spending cap. As for the championship, I believe that fate will naturally have a chance; but again, everyone can see the performance of Russell, a young man. If the Williams team makes progress in the chariot in 2021, is it possible that Russell can be Williams? What about the score? I personally hope that will happen.
After talking about the team, let's talk about the next season's competition.
I believe that this season's competition will be the hardest season for every staff member in recent years. This season was supposed to start in Australia in March, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. It is understandable to cancel the game itself, but the date announced by the conference is two days before the game. In fact, to a certain extent, it can be seen that the FIA has a problem in emergency response, but there are also rumors that it is too late to announce due to the large amount of compensation involved. As for the reason, of course, we have no way of knowing, but I believe that every time The disappointment of one staff member is definitely greater than that of every fan.
I went to the 1,000th Ferrari in Italy commemorative race. After the 2016 Brazil Grand Prix 1400 days apart, there were two red flags. Extremely unusual. As for the end of September, there is a lot of unfortunate news that Honda will withdraw from F1 engine supply after 2022 , which is the first time in history Four times announced his withdrawal from F1. Of course, after 2022, the Red Blue engine will be supplied and everyone will be a fan, but it is also surprising that it has been in the  V6 Turbo hybrid engine era since 2014. From the victory of Pingzhi to the home, basically other manufacturers only accompany them. Although 2022 is the year of major reform of F1, Honda’s decision to leave early, to a certain extent, also means that only a few manufacturers of  V6 Turbo hybrid engines can be familiar with it. Simply put, it means that as long as it is successfully developed, Can monopolize F1 events. Personally, of course, I hope to see Honda return to F1 for the fifth time in my life.
After that, I returned to the Turkish circuit after a nine-year absence. It was a very exciting event this season. In addition to the performance of the drivers, the more important thing was the track itself . If you remember, at that time, in order to cater to F1's return to Turkey, the track authority resurfaced the track for four weeks, and the lack of competition after that caused a serious lack of grip on the track. . This is also one of the most terrifying accidents in F1 in recent years. I am definitely not a physicist, and my physics level is only to the third year, so I can't speculate that there will be such a big fire. I can only be sure that the oil cylinder is one of the culprits; but what I want to say is that the safety equipment of Modern F1 has been improved a lot than it was decades ago, but if you unpack the car, it will explode and burst into flames, and the driver will be relieved. Take full precautions, and you will get second-degree burns on your hands and feet. Of course, I'm not an expert, so I can't answer these questions, but I can't help but reflect on the fact that every time every car and every driver races, they risk their lives every time. Finally, I believe that the question that many people want to know is the question of where Albon of Red Blue will stay in 2021. I believe that Red Blue must have more data about Albon than us (nonsense), but it also confirms an urban legend to a certain extent, that is: a car with a Honda  engine is definitely not easy to drive. The best example is this season’s MotoGP, the defending champion Marc Márquez withdrew from the entire season due to injury; and Álex Márquez, his teammate and scout, both drove the RC213V provided by Honda, but the results were completely different and also All made Repsol Honda lose the best team and best car factory this season. Going back to Álex Márquez's performance this season, he had two DNFs, three times he finished without scoring, but he could be on the podium as runner-up for two weeks in a row. Of course, luck is not rare in every sport, but human factors are inevitable. The Honda engine is actually a very high-quality engine.
