The younger the child, the less or less exposure to video teaching should be avoided. Whether playing or studying, parental company is a child's favorite thing. Moreover, the younger the child, the more dependent and trusting the parents are.

Earlier we talked about how to take children to learn addition and subtraction within 10 while playing, and also said not to let children do paper exercises right away. Still don't practice on paper, and don't rush to teach the next stage of number operations. What to do? Practice mental arithmetic with your child.

Little K didn't start doing paper calculations until he was 5 years old, but in fact, before he was 5 years old, I often took him to do mental calculations, which is mental arithmetic. When Little K first started counting, like most children, he wanted to use his fingers to help. But he only hooked his finger once and I stopped him. I gave him a bunch of pens (more than 10 pens), and said that if you can't figure it out, you can count the pens and you are not allowed to hook your fingers. Later, he calculated faster and faster and on time by counting, and I did not allow him to count with the help of pens and other objects, only his brain.

Here, by the way, I always think that the younger the child, the less or less exposure to video teaching. Whether playing or studying, parental company is a child's favorite thing. Moreover, the younger the child, the more dependent and trusting the parents are. So when I told Xiao K that he can use his head to calculate without a pen, he was very happy and started to calculate by himself. Because there is a foundation for playing, there is no need to teach at this time, just give him the task and let him think for himself. All I do is give him questions every day when I pick him up. He didn't let me down, he found his way.

What method did he use?

For example, in addition, I asked him 3+6=? , he recited words in his mouth, 7 is 1, 8 is 2, 9 is 3, equals 9. At the beginning, I didn't understand, but after listening to him read like this, I got a few questions right before I reacted. It turned out that he meant: 6 plus 1 is 7, plus 2 is 8, plus 3 is 9. Moreover, this kid is quite interesting, and he thought of adding faster on the basis of large numbers.

Another example is subtraction, I asked him 10-4=? , he also said, 9 is 1, 8 is 2, 7 is 3, 6 is 4, which equals 4. This means: 10 minus 1 equals 9, 10 minus 2 equals 8, 10 minus 3 equals 7, and 10 minus 4 equals 6.

When he becomes more and more proficient, he will no longer need to talk about it, but will tell me the answer directly and quickly.

At this point, the child's basic number sense, the size and addition and subtraction of numbers within 10, are basically completed. The great advantage of doing this all the way is that Xiao K can do the application questions related to digital calculation later, without my explanation! And the application question is one of the types of questions that I like to ask Xiao K to do. Of course, this is another story.

Well, that's it for today, one more day to complete another day, see you tomorrow!
