《Quality Time》
How have you spent the past two months?
I'm at home with my family.
On the first day of May, I would like to review the four months of 2020.
In January, I just returned to Hong Kong from New Zealand, ending my three-month working holiday a year.
In February, I invited three groups of friends to travel to Taiwan, and the journeys were seamless. They went to Taichung, Taipei, and a bicycle tour around the island. It took 22 days to travel all over Taiwan.
In March, the epidemic situation became more and more serious. For his own sake, he voluntarily quarantined himself for 20 days after returning to Hong Kong. After that, except for offline courses, I basically locked myself at home and didn’t go to work. I put together a list for myself to deal with during this period of time. The rest of the time is spent in online courses, film and television works and books.
April, if so.
Two months have passed, and honestly, my home life isn't productive, but the amount of time has forced me to do everything I've always wanted to do. The feeling of turning ideas into action is real, and I love it.
Trivial things don't add up to trivial things
Doing one small thing might not make a big difference, but adding up to it is another story.
When I first started, I was pretty much tidying up, tidying up my desk, my room, my computer desk, my phone desk, organizing my folders, checking and modifying software updates for electronics, app settings and preferences. These are things that I usually ignore and choose to skip because I think these little things take up time and don’t have an immediate and large impact on my life.
After cleaning up, when I used it again, I felt an unprecedented comfort. If I had to describe it in words, it would probably be "Harmony". The new look, the feeling of being completely natural, is like a five-star team fitting together, as if everything is under control.
What surprised me was that it turned out that spending some time communicating with commonly used equipment and getting to know each other can greatly improve productivity and efficiency, and it is also the first step to make yourself do things well. Sharpen it first."
The little things add up to life
With more time, I have more space to pay attention to things that I usually don't pay attention to, those tiny details.
Usually, I do what I call important things, arrange the timetable densely, reorder it, prioritize it, and even use up the fragmented transportation time, come up with ideas and make plans, so as to allocate the time properly and make full use of it.
There is no doubt that I have done my work on time and my life is very fulfilling, but my heart is very tired. Dealing with daily things drains my energy, getting more sleep in the morning makes me run for breakfast, busy typing to do list all day during transportation time, doing data collection while eating during lunch time, and rushing to the next one after work After the night shift, I ate supper at midnight, checked the progress of my work, went home and took a shower, and then chased after the ongoing plan again, every day.
The above is my life in college. Looking back, I still sigh that I really worked hard to do everything well in those years. After graduation I decided to take a year off and see the world.
Know yourself, listen to your heart

During the year, there are a lot of alone time, a lot of idle time. I didn't specifically plan this trip, you might be wondering if I can get used to it? I've always been someone who needs a plan because planning makes me feel safe. But the working holiday has made me realize that sometimes the plan can't keep up with the changes, doing unknown things in an unknown place, meeting unknown people, and the direction of things will be unknown.
So I gave up the plan and let myself go with my intuition. Gradually, I realized that I was changing little by little, becoming less stubborn and more casual and confident. Compared with the complacent, self-defeating and indecisive in the past, I was more mature and courageous at that time. Thank you to the lovely people along the way, for making me a better me.
Saying goodbye to the old me and getting to know the new me may be the meaning of travel.
Discover the beauty around you and embrace the moment

After more than a year of wandering, even if I don't stick to my family, I still feel homesick. After taking New Zealand, the neighboring island countries and Taiwan all around, my heart still needs to rest. I happened to run into the epidemic, and I naturally stayed at home.
This epidemic has brought too much pain, and it is undoubtedly the greatest catastrophe of this century. In the social atmosphere of sincerity and fear, everyone is worried that they and the people around them will get sick.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of stupidity; it was the age of trust, it was the age of doubt; it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness ; that is the spring of hope, that is the winter of despair; we have everything, we have nothing; we go straight to heaven, we go straight to hell…”.
Things have happened, we can't change the status quo, we have to change our state of mind. In the two months I stayed at home, in addition to more personal time, I also spent more time with my family, as if there had never been so much time. So I am still grateful that these days have unexpectedly given me more opportunities to live with my family and share life. Thank you to my parents who still treat me like a child and take care of me in every possible way, so that I can find the simplest joy and happiness during these days.
In an age when breathing is so extravagant, love, makes me feel very rich.
live well

I remember reading a story when I was young, wrapped in face to tell:
A newly-launched "Comic Weekly" launched a painting campaign, requiring works to be titled "The Last Moments of the World". Within a limited period of time, works from all over the world are piled up, and in order to obtain high prizes, all authors will use their imaginations to the fullest. Some depict couples hugging each other tightly, drinking and kissing, some depicting burning banknotes on the street, and some depicting a scene of escaping the earth in a spaceship.
But in the end, it was a cartoon drawn with pencil by a housewife who won the huge prize. In the painting, she is turning off the tap water after washing the dishes in the kitchen. Her husband is drinking coffee by the dining table. There is another cup of steaming coffee on the dining table. On the floor beside the dining table, there are two Little boy is playing with blocks.
What the judges said about the seemingly ordinary first-prize winning piece: We were shocked by the calm of the family.
Believe that everything is the best arrangement, cherish everything, and live a good life is the highest pursuit of happiness.
At the end of the world, I hope so too.
