You should know about self-education that can change your life in personal growth

Education and learning are inseparable. If learning is defined as the transfer of knowledge in a narrow classroom, then education is limited to a small world on the side of the school. On the contrary, we define education as the acquisition of experience, and the method of acquisition is not limited to fixed scenes and forms. At this time, you will find that people are learning from birth to death, and never stop.

When a newborn baby comes to this world, he will begin to feel the world with his biological instincts, and gradually he will have to obtain information from the interaction with adults and adjust his own behavior; Climbing to standing and then walking to running to cycling; entering kindergartens, schools, learning knowledge, learning to get along with peers and teachers; entering society and learning how to work. If he encounters a new problem at work, he may need to learn some new knowledge to solve the problem, otherwise there will be the risk of unemployment; some people have a wide range of hobbies and learn some pottery, baking, painting, calligraphy after work , illustration, dance, yoga... to enrich life and self-improvement; some people do not have these hobbies, but everyone must learn new technology products with the changes of the environment, the times, and the advancement of science and technology. Use, learn common sense of the new age to make sure not to be left behind by the age.

Therefore, I divide the education that a person receives in his life into four types according to different educators: family education, school education, social education, and self-education. It should be noted that school education has not always existed, but is the product of modern civilization, and the other three types of education exist along with the long social development of human beings. Next, I will elaborate on my point of view.

The first is family education. As the name implies, it is based on the family. The main educators are parents and other family members. The characteristic of this education stage is imitation. The behavior of imitation is not limited to children's imitation of their parents. The words and deeds of other family members will also become the best teaching materials for children to imitate. In addition, attention should be paid to the mutual imitation of words and deeds of family members living together for a long time. For example, many couples or couples will have similar expressions and subconscious habits, but some adults will also learn some children's movement habits. The interaction between human beings cannot be ignored. It can be said that family education can occur as long as there are more than two family members. (I don’t know about orphans and foster children, so I won’t be involved for the time being.)

The second is school education. School education was a luxury in ancient times, and children from poor families could not read or read at all. This is consistent with China and abroad. In various dynasties in ancient China, there were many family schools, such as ancestral studies and ethnology, which were based on clans, or private schools that were run at home by those who were famous in the imperial examination. The larger private schools were academies. These traditional schools are without exception. Yes, if you want to learn and receive education in it, your family and parents must have a certain amount of wealth and fame. More ordinary people have no right to education. Western education was also the education of aristocrats at the beginning, and now the compulsory education that citizens generally accept is the product of modern scientific and technological civilization. (Interested friends can go to search "Prussian education system")

With the development of modern science and technology, industrial civilization requires more educated labor force, which is the demand of economic interests; modern government needs to instill its own ideology in citizens' brains through education, strengthen the concept of nationality, and stabilize social unity. Political rights appeals; in the new era, science and technology are the primary productive forces, high-quality talents are always scarce resources, and basic education has broadened the fishing net for talents, enabling the country to discover more malleable factors through the popularization of compulsory education. Only to focus on training. This is what I think is the essence of schooling.

The characteristic of school education is to transmit knowledge through the interaction between teachers and students in the classroom, and its content is uniformly regulated by the relevant educational institutions of the state. In China, the biggest flaw of school education is that it focuses on the results and not the process. The most important thing is that the talents trained by university education do not meet the needs of the society, which leads to the difficulty of college students' employment and the shortage of social talents. The employment guidance centers of many colleges and universities are mostly decorations, and the employment rate is doubtful. Some colleges and universities even require graduates to sign a tripartite contract under the threat of graduation certificate and degree certificate. These are some of the problems in school education.

The third is social education. Social education actually starts from the contact between individuals and people other than family members. It’s just that when we were young, we relied more on education from families and schools. When we start working, we need to solve all kinds of work and life independently. When we encounter problems in our society, we will be more deeply affected by social education. Educators of social education are other people or things that you come into contact with or experience other than family members. When you were a child, they were your neighbors, playmates, and relatives. When you grow up, they may be your supervisors, colleagues, partners, and encounters. frustration, etc. A few decades ago, before the labor law was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, there were still many shops that depended on craftsmanship to recruit apprentices. The apprenticeship system was also a social education system developed over thousands of years. The most typical example is the exchange of one's own labor force for experience and learning technology. Up to now, many companies recruit interns and pay very low salaries. Despite this, many college students are still rushing to compete for intern positions in excellent companies. The reason is to gain work experience in large factories to increase their human capital. in exchange for a competitive advantage in society. The most important feature of social education is the accumulation of knowledge and experience through participation in social interaction and cooperation.

Finally, and most importantly - educate yourself. The basis of self-education is the awakening of self-awareness. When you get rid of the influence of family, school, and society, you can think about your likes, loves, and needs independently, and actively learn to receive new information and knowledge. Educate yourself. The most common self-education is various vocational education aimed at employment in the market. Due to the asymmetry between the training of talents by the school and the demand for talents by the market, many college students are now struggling to find employment, so various vocational education has sprung up like mushrooms after a rain. Born on demand. The most common training for us is the training in the Internet industry, and now there are also more vocational trainings such as broadcasting hosting and painting design. In addition, there are also illustration, yoga, baking and other courses that are spontaneously learned purely because of hobbies and needs. In the Internet era, online education is booming. Although the K12 market is experiencing an ice age, vocational education and interest education have not been affected, and the concept of paying for knowledge is gradually accepted by the public.

Now that I understand the relevant definitions, I want to explain to you their relationship and their role in our lives. Let me take the story of Cuihua, who was born in an ordinary family, as an example to explain to you how these four kinds of education affect the development of an individual.

Cuihua was born in an ordinary peasant family. She was well-behaved and sensible since she was a child. Her parents liked her very much and treated her and her brother equally and impartially. Cuihua's mother is a barefoot doctor. Influenced by her family environment, she has been familiar with the effects of various commonly used drugs since childhood. Once she had a fever, she didn't even tell her mother, and she just took some medicine to get better. Occasionally, she would help her mother to take medicine or pull out a hanging bottle. The villagers often praised her as a little doctor.

It's just a very annoying point. Someone will always whisper in her ear that she will give it to others in the future. This is his brother's home, not hers. As she grew up, her mother would also ask her to undertake housework such as sweeping the floor, cooking, washing, and washing pots, but her brother could not do it. She felt it was unfair and protested, but was told that this is what girls should do.

Cuihua's academic performance is good, and his parents are willing to pay for him to study. Compared with other girls in the same village who dropped out of school early, Cuihua has a certain sense of superiority. However, this superior feeling no longer existed in high school. Cuihua high school went to the county to study. Compared with other children who knew each other in junior high school in the county, Cuihua felt that she was out of place. Look at her classmates, you can calligraphy, I can play the guitar, he can play the piano... Cuihua does not She has low self-esteem for any hobbies that can be obtained, and feels that she is very bad. Coinciding with some changes in the family, the parents are not in harmony, Cuihua is keenly aware of some changes, and quietly acts as the mother's emotional trash can.

The big family of money in the village went out to do a small business and made a fortune, built a new house in the village, and heard that they also bought buildings and shops in the city. Cuihua's parents often told Cuihua to study hard to earn money, but Cuihua actually didn't understand the meaning of study, only listened to her parents saying that study is for work and work is for earning money, but Qian Da didn't study much. I also made a fortune and made money, so there seems to be no necessary connection between education and making money. The idea of Cuihua finally broke out in the boring study of the school day by day. She hated that she would not be able to study until 10 o'clock every night, but had to get up after 6 o'clock. She hated class, and the teacher had no idea on the podium. Cuihua only thought about it. "Buzzing" uncomfortable, Cuihua's grades dropped drastically.

Cuihua felt very guilty, but she couldn't help falling asleep in class, and she liked to read some extracurricular books such as magazines and novels. Those things were much more interesting than textbooks. Cuihua talked to her mother. Her mother’s requirement for Cuihua was that she must be admitted to an undergraduate university. Cuihua measured her learning situation in her heart. When she divided arts and sciences, she decided to choose liberal arts because she could balance her hobbies and studies. In a flash, there was still more than a month before the college entrance examination. Cuihua was preparing to study hard and sprint for the college entrance examination. Who knew that a group of people who distributed leaflets came to the school, threw the colorful leaflets and left. Cuihua picked it up and took a look. The flyer of the junior college, nutrition science - one of the high-paying careers in the future mentioned in the newspaper a few days ago, felt very good, forgot the requirement that my mother must take an undergraduate university, and gave up the plan to study hard I plan to mix the high school entrance examination to study nutrition in colleges and universities.

Unfortunately, the plan failed to materialize. After the college entrance examination, Cuihua continued to go back to school under the persuasion of her family through hard and soft persuasion, so she had to go through the college entrance examination again. Although she had to repeat the study, Cuihua didn't understand the meaning of learning or the meaning of the college entrance examination, but she didn't realize it when everyone said it was important, and she didn't have any related concepts in her mind. After a year of re-reading, Cuihua had just passed the undergraduate course for the college entrance examination. She went to a second-class college to study history, which she liked although she was partial. After graduating from college, Cuihua was arranged by her family into a company.

At the beginning of the job, Cuihua was full of enthusiasm and wanted to make a difference, but due to some problems encountered in the communication with colleagues and in the process of work, Cuihua was hit hard and suddenly felt that she had many deficiencies and vaguely I feel that there is something wrong with the way her parents taught her to be kind and to work hard. Cuihua began to read some books related to "emotional intelligence". The books were straightforward, but Cuihua felt that she did not agree with the content of the books. Cuihua moved out of the company's collective dormitory and chose to rent a house alone. Gradually, due to various reasons, she met some friends, and the small flame of resignation burned in her heart. Finally, one day, she resigned directly.

After resigning, Cuihua participated in vocational education and training, and then found a new job. However, the new job was not smooth sailing. She would still encounter social difficulties. Problem-solving is often time-consuming due to confusion in thinking ability... With the recommendation of friends, Cuihua learned about many courses, and by studying psychology Cuihua learned to better control her emotions and her desire to consume; by reading many Books, Cuihua learned to look at problems from a variety of different subject perspectives and different people's perspectives, not only improving the efficiency of solving problems, but also socializing with others more smoothly and reducing many troubles... Slow study has forced me to reflect on my past life, understand the meaning of study, find my pursuit of life, and grow from a confused little fool to a young man who works hard for his dreams.

The story of Cuihua shows us that these four kinds of education actually play a role in our life. Initially, family education and school education have a great influence, but with the growth of individuals, there will be more and more social education and self-education. to function. Family education and school education will greatly affect how we initially view the world, others, and the relationship between people. Later, the cognition of individuals participating in work will be affected to a greater extent by social education, but overall It can be said that there will be no major changes, especially when a person has been focusing on the "one acre and three points of land" in front of him for a long time and cannot accept different views and different information from different groups of people, it can be said that this person belongs to the relative closed state.

Self-education can open up this closed state. Whether it is through reading various classic books or learning knowledge because of interest or self-improvement needs, you will always gain something new and learn to analyze the problems encountered in life and work from a new perspective. You will become more tolerant, this kind of tolerance is not a weak swallowing, but a kind of tolerance that understands the diversity of the world and the differences between people, which will also improve personal interpersonal relationships and avoid falling into narrow situation.

The significance of self-education is that the individual learns the experience and knowledge according to his own situation, corrects the wrong experience acquired before, and covers the outdated experience, so as to continuously improve himself. People who are good at self-education usually achieve higher achievements, because successful family education and school education will inevitably cultivate a person who is good at self-education. Education can also make up for its own deficiencies and try to catch up.
