Looking at the last GPX record, um, it's really a bit far! XD

What I want to share today is the first section of the Taipei Great Vertical Walk. The standard itinerary for hiking notes is from Guandu MRT Station to Erziping. However, based on traffic considerations, we still choose to walk in the opposite direction, that is, from Erziping to Guandu MRT. stand.

If you are too lazy to read the text, you can listen to it: Podcast (voice only)
If you are interested in walking, you can refer to the fork in the road: Sharing the first section of the fork in Taipei Dalong
(This fork in the road movie is the most watched in the released Taipei Long Walk series. I really don’t know why? 0.0??)

  • choose to go backwards

Because I chose to walk backwards this time, there will be a lot of downhill, which is also in line with my expectations for training downhill ability, but some sections are muddy and slippery. Friends who are interested in walking backwards may need to pay attention to the shoes they are wearing. Be careful with slippery feet. When walking this section, if there is rain just a few days before departure, it is normal to bring some soil in your shoes when you go home as a souvenir!

If you want to go down the mountain, please be sure to consider the bus time for Erziping down the mountain. The latest schedule is 17:30PM, but there are many people taking the bus down the mountain, and the car is small and difficult to squeeze up. It is recommended to take it before 3:30 PM To finish and start waiting for the bus!

In the middle of this section, there will be Qingtian Temple where you can replenish water and use the toilet, but you still need to prepare rain gear, food, lunch, etc. I checked the reviews of other people before departure, and found that the journey is also less promising, and it has to walk a long road, which may have to fight with the fifth paragraph, so I did some psychological construction first, and I still have to set off for tasks and gems ^^"

  • transportation

We first took the MRT to Shilin MRT Station, took the red 5 or 260 to the bus terminal, and then transferred to the only minibus 108 or 108 that can get on Erziping. Just when the train turned to dizzy, I finally arrived at Erziping.

Erziping can also replenish water, use the toilet, and there is a sales department where you can buy some food. If you don’t have everything ready at the foot of the mountain, you can replenish it here, but the cost should be a little higher than that at the foot of the mountain. Because of the intermediate traffic factor, it was already 9:30 in the morning when we started to leave, and there was still heavy fog in Erziping Park. However, Erziping Park is still very beautiful. It is said to be the most beautiful area in the whole section of the road, so you should cherish it with your eyes and look at it more XD

  • Erziping, Miantianshan Trail
big fog 0.0

After passing the gentle and easy-to-walk Erziping Trail, you must follow the indicators to the direction of Qingtian Temple and enter the Miantianshan Trail. The indicators of this section are quite clear, and most of them can follow the indicators.

On the right is the fork in the road to the Tianping stone house group.
The remains of Miantianping stone houses

There is a fork in the middle of the Miantianshan Trail. You can enjoy the monuments of the Miantianping stone house group. You can also go straight along the main road and pass the Miantianping Pavilion. The second half of the same road is the first half of the Datun Peak Trail. , continue to the direction of Qingtian Temple. Before and after the pavilion in Miantianping, the road conditions are quite muddy, so be careful when walking in this section.

  • Qingtian Temple

Once the muddy section is over, it starts to feel like an endless series of stairs going down. I'm really not good at going downhill. Continuous downhills feel more painful than going uphill, especially when the road is slippery and slippery. Be careful with every step. The scenery along the aisle gradually opened up, and it was almost time to reach the Qingtian Temple. Qingtian Temple can go to the bathroom. If you miss it, you may have to wait until you go down the mountain. In addition, there are water dispensers that can be filled with water. Although we brought rice balls for lunch, we also wanted to make hot water to make coffee, so we filled the water in the Qingtian Temple, which can be used when preparing for meals.

big tree in qingtian palace

  • Xiaqingqing, Guizikeng Mountain Trail

Next, you have to go around the big tree at the gate of Qingtian Palace to find the direction to Xiaqingqing Trail. If it is the first time to walk, it is recommended to take a look at the trajectory, but friends who follow along should not have this trouble. The next indicators are quite clear. Just follow the indicators along the way. In short, the stone steps, the asphalt road, and then the stone steps are alternated. All the way down to the printing station, I finally stopped the continuous downhill for a while, and it was really difficult to turn to the Guizikeng Mountain Trail.

The Guizikeng Mountain Trail is a waist-circling route, which is very easy and easy to walk. After walking out, it is the Guohua Golf Driving Range. The exit is currently blocked, and the iron sheet that bypasses the block will see that the Taipei Great Vertical Walk is indeed going to walk in here. Next is another large section of asphalt road. Along the way, you can sigh with emotion that the area of Guohua Golf Club is really amazing. This section will also lead to world-weariness, until the stone tablet of "Wu Zai Cuo" appears on the right hand side, and it will turn to the right. This is also a blocked gate, but pedestrians can enter. If you have any doubts, don't forget to compare the track at any time. Because I was too tired of the world, I actually went too far and was called back by my friends XD

  • Zhongyi Mountain Pro-Mountain Trail
Galabie Mountain Triangle Point

After drilling through the blocked gate, it is the Zhongyi Mountain Mountain Trail! As soon as you walk in, you will pass a small hill called "Galaobie Mountain" that has no prospect and cannot even be seen on the map. I guessed it a bit. This name comes from the Pingpu language. It is an old local place name.

Zhongyi Mountain Triangle Point
Along the way, I met a plum tree that made my mouth drool just by looking at it: Q~~~

Walk a few steps further and you will arrive at the He Guohua Mother and Son Cemetery. After passing the cemetery, you should go down the trail on the right, but there is a mountain pavilion maintained by kind people towards the printing station. This excellent location, after a good rest for a while, went to see another triangular point of Zhongyi Mountain by the way, as expected, there is really no prospect, and then we will continue to descend the mountain!

  • The last part of the trail down the mountain
Super Muddy Slippery 0.0

The last section of the mountain road is a primitive trail, slippery and steep, but fortunately it is not long, and you will pass quickly if you walk slowly and carefully. Once you get off the trail, it's back to the asphalt, I hate asphalt T T

The last section of the asphalt road is sandwiched between two universities. The scenery is open, and at least I am in a good mood to walk. In addition, this is also the last section, and today's trip will end in a few minutes!

record of hiking notes
GPX record of forest log

Looking at the last GPX record, um, it's really a bit far! XD

This section is also stop-and-go with friends. It took six and a half hours to arrive with a break. Although I was a little tired, I am still very happy to have harvested the gems of this section~^O^
