As a result of statistical analysis, some merchants that import BNPL can make consumers buy about 20% more things when shopping, and make a single consumption amount about 20%. Generally, after using a credit card, the merchant will not receive the money immediately because it will take some time in the accounting office, and if a customer requests a refund or is even defrauded, the merchant also has to deal with some additional procedures for the credit card. For BNPL services, when the consumer completes the consumption, the BNPL service provider will immediately send the payment to the merchant, which means that the subsequent accounting matters are the problems of the consumer and the BNPL service provider themselves.

Perhaps because the BNPL service will allow merchants to receive money when the consumption is established, it will need to pay a commission of about 3% to 6%, which is much higher than the commission drawn by ordinary credit cards, but if it is really as the statistics show. 3. BNPL Service Providers

Affirm's main sources of income are mainly divided into two parts, from users and merchants. They will extract annual interest rates ranging from 0% to 30% from users, and this standard depends on the financial and credit status of users. In addition, they will not charge users any more fees, and there will be no penalty even if they are late; for merchants, each time a transaction is completed, about 2% to 4% of the fee will be extracted as a service fee.

Afterpay does not consider the user's credit status at all, and the money borrowed by the user using the BNPL service will not charge any interest. Instead, if the user fails to pay the corresponding amount within the specified repayment time, there will be a delay. The penalty for paying, this penalty can be up to 25% of the original loan, which means that Afterpay does not review the user's financial situation, some consumers are fined for accidentally overspending and unable to pay off the money. Statistics in 2020 According to the data, the penalty income brought by these late submissions is as high as 51.8 million US dollars, which can account for 13.25% of the company's total annual revenue.
