The inner monologue of a wild man

As we all know, there is a chain of contempt in the domestic music circle.

I was ridiculed for listening to folk music the day before yesterday, I was scolded for listening to rock music yesterday, and I will be laughed at for listening to hip-hop today... Not to mention, the hip-hop and rock music circles are often compared with each other. Who is more outrageous and who is more unfashionable?

"Gaoha" is similar to "yabi" in that it has no clear definition, but it is a very strong word once it is mentioned. To be honest, it is probably a daily carnival of a group of "fun people" who pay attention to this culture, or a cross-over secondary branch similar to hip-hop culture and fan circle culture.

In the early days, people never accepted it, but now it is "universalized" by the Kazakhs.

Of course, what I am talking about here is the "Tuha" (domestic Ha circle).

To me, the happiness of Goha is similar to that of Kamu's jokes. The real life of Goha people is that of happy idiots! "I like your humor! Goodbye!" (with salute)

No one who knows me could imagine that one summer night I would be standing outside Mingtang Records imitating Masiwei’s local rock style, “Ferrari, Franck Boghini, drop top; opening a bottle of Lafite, I’m dancing cha-cha in the corridor; another weekend has come, let me go out and have fun; I’ll check in at the hottest nightclub in Chengdu.” I would also get inexplicably excited when I passed by a barber shop in Chengdu playing CDC, and would urgently send a message to my friends.

I saw an amateur write about her life before, and she inadvertently expressed my thoughts:

"I said I would go back to work on Ha as soon as I had a result on the work I was doing, but in fact my small account had long been put aside and covered with dust. I encountered something more enjoyable than working on Ha, so I put Ha behind me with peace of mind.

"At that time, I didn't realize that other happiness is short-lived, but the happiness of Goha is eternal."

01

What on earth are you doing?

At this point, I have to talk about what kind of people the "Ha people" are in my eyes.

In most people's eyes, "Rapper" means "technical secondary school music". The general stereotype is wearing a big gold chain, a fashionable brand, and a "what's up bro" with a middle school hand gesture.

But when I came into contact with the real circle——

"I just recently found out that Li Bei (Li Jingze, aka Bei Bei) lost 500 on the World Cup bet and then wrote a demo specifically to criticize this incident. It's really funny to the point of being bizarre."

"Deng Dianguo's introduction on the iQiyi program says: Past honors: undergraduate degree, rap skills: all-round (it depends on whether you want it or not). I think everyone should learn this kind of confidence."

"Why are only the Ha people constantly asking themselves, 'Are you afraid of being so black?'"

......

I don't know what the definition of a Ha-jin is, but Ha-jin are undoubtedly the most self-centered group of people who are unwaveringly "confident in becoming the Pirate King". In the eyes of us Ha-jin people, they can't escape being "fun people". What we like are often those "living human characteristics" with their own "awkward points". They are so eye-catching among the perfect "fake" idols of domestic entertainment. They not only cosplay C-level heroes on stage, but also do all kinds of "living things" in life. They love to "talk" about others in live broadcasts, surf the Internet with long paragraphs of text, and make some strange vows... In short, the diversity of human beings. After understanding them, we are not surprised by what men do.

Liu Cong takes the three-wheeled motorcycle license exam...

Even when showing off, the people in the US are sometimes just "pretending to be cool". They refer to classic sentences such as "I am xxx, you are xxx", using metaphors ranging from cars, watches, sports stars to local cultural attractions. And the audience will not take the pretentiousness of the people in the US seriously, just "I want to hear how you praise yourself, it's better to write something interesting", occasionally, to meet our "alternative pretentiousness" needs.

The difference between the fan culture of fan circles and the distance between the people of Goha and the "real people" is obviously farther. If many idols rely on the fans' imagination, projection and worship of perfection, then the mentality of Goha is like sitting in the community market at the doorstep, eating melon seeds and chatting about "gossip", and anyone can come and meddle in it and say a few words. (Note: For the sake of rigor, "Goha" also has a tendency to become a fan circle, and hip-hop listeners and fans of fan circles are entangled with each other, loving and hating each other)

The Ha people themselves are an extremely unstable and "dangerous" group of people. "Such a circle is most suitable for those of us who like to meddle in other people's affairs, are impatient, and like to have fun in a frivolous way. Giving a little more sincerity would be disrespectful to this circle!" my Ha friend argued.

The Internet is full of "bad people", and it is these funny people who use humor to dissolve the pungent masculinity in their interactions.

Recently, a series of events such as TangoZ's suspected "collapse" and Pharaoh's "joking" withdrawal from the circle have revitalized the quiet Ha circle. The popularity has soared that even the Douban loan group (the "Rap New Generation" group) that ended three years ago has returned to the popularity list. "The Ha circle has its own crazy Thursday." (Another note: I will not discuss the "Ha events" on the recent topic list here. As we all know, Ha people are responsible for their own troubles.)

From the outside, the rap scene is sometimes “smoky and chaotic”, with diss everywhere. Indeed, the rappers without any scandal (note: specifically male, female rappers are generally clean) seem to be trying to find bones in an egg, while the rappers who are into rap are dancing with the mentality that the rap scene is a ruin with no houses.

Ha people play memes by themselves

"Come and do it, all the domestic entertainment sisters! Come and do it, you will find that everything is a small matter except getting in! Of course getting in can also be a small matter! What about the collapsed house! What about the broken defense! Train your heart in the ruins while dispelling the charm of your male baby! Men are inherently rotten!"

Real Haha fans don't care about these things. We only care whether this work can be "high energy", whether this joke can be "classic forever", and whether Haha can bring us happiness. According to my observation, people who like Haha have a bit of "light as a feather" waste humor spirit.

Friend, do you listen to "Jiangjiang Plus"?

As a "haha person", my daily life is to carefully prepare a proper takeaway lunch for my electronic mustard @Er Aifu teacher. Then, I take out my noble right finger and solemnly click on the latest Erchuang video.

The hip-hop ecosystem of B station is actually not very big. The number of fans of several major hip-hop channels on B station may not be as many as that of an up-master in the life area. Er Aifu is most famous for being a "popular science person". Now he can also be said to be a person who uses "love editing" to match many couples and contributes to the hot words in the hip-hop circle. Of course, a big reason why I started to pay attention to Er Aifu is that he can always find screenshots of old hip-hop forums, videos of rappers from the underground eight miles period, and audio sources with completely damaged sound quality from the corners of history.

As a (self-proclaimed) wild subculture researcher, I have actually been slowly piecing together the historical picture of the development of hip-hop as a subculture in China through the popular science education of Teacher Er Aifu, dozens of popular science columns of famous rappers and secondary creation programs.

In the early days of the "rap bar" forum, there were underground rap groups that were short-lived and then disbanded in various regions, the producers and DJ culture that hip-hop culture cannot do without, the classic battles of the underground Eight Mile, the history of the development of the community mixed with street dance and bbox, and those classic albums of Chinese rap that are highly recommended to listen to, all of which can be dug out by Teacher Er Ai Fu.

I would also like to recommend a column about the birth history of hip-hop recently launched by the "outdated" Beijing rapper Huizi (@吴肇辉-辉子). When I was watching it, I laughed and said that "rapper transformed into up master and re-employed" is indeed interesting, and even the verses are in rhythm, which is somewhat talented. At the same time, I also realized that hip-hop, a culture that originated from street parties, mostly relied on some kind of "preaching" style of dissemination in the early days in China. Whether a person believes in these unofficial and non-authoritative resources is another topic worth talking about.

It is not just that hip-hop itself was born from the grassroots masses, but that it also contains a non-elite perspective, just like all "earthy culture". The reason why some "high-class people" with good music taste look down on "earthy culture" is indeed because it is really rustic and really "lazy".

Most of those popular "Hit Songs" are melody rap with cheesy pop hooks, nothing more than some urban love, dream pursuit and viral brainless simple repetition, but they can sink into the ears of most people. Dear readers and friends, sometimes, I would also like to call it "spiritual pollution".

If you haven't heard the "spiritual pollution" ghost song "Jiangjiang Plus" that became popular this summer, then I can only say that I won't tell anyone who loses a million. For readers who haven't heard it yet, the following introduction can give you an idea of its "beautiful mental state".

This "unreasonable, crazy" divine song was performed at its peak this year by an elf dressed as a green Superman, who shouted in a serious tone to the rhythm of the march, "Wow, why are my muscles so beautiful~beautiful~; if I exert force, I can overturn the wardrobe~overturn~; I use the barbell plates as frisbees to play~play~; the shot put I throw flies to Mars and no one survives~survives~".

The last two lines of exaggerated lyrics have a very perverted imagination. After that, Pharaoh quickly cuts into a fitness-related fast-talk that seems to be artificially generated by a robot, progressively advancing the emotions, and finally in the infinite military training-style repetition of "athlete, athlete, athlete, athlete" and "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight", the ghost spirit is most perfectly blossomed.

If the elves and the Pharaohs are pure fun, then in the morning part, he plays the role of a normal person who is overly depressed, fed up with inexplicable things, and finally goes crazy. This makes the whole song from a simple meme song to a modern literature that desires to be relieved under high pressure and is willing to "go crazy".

When I first listened to it, I felt it was "broken", but then I could hear the hidden meaning. Poor us, in the repression and absurdity of the past few years, we understand "Athlete", become "Athlete", and just want to shout together "It's onion, I added onion!", venting a collective subconscious of "either perish in silence or explode in silence". "Athlete Plus" has also become an important representative work of the new classic "abstract rap" of this century.

My love for this song is not only reflected in the fact that I often play it to my friends who are not into hip-hop to see their reactions, but also in the fact that I always hold the view that hip-hop is the fastest way to express the times. Whether it is the pursuit of money and material, the desire of the little people to leap up the social ladder, the recollection of youth, the yearning and description of true love, no matter how vulgar it is, as long as there is a trace of "truth", I still seem to be moved.

03

“Being interesting is more meaningful than being meaningful itself”

In this age when talking about struggle seems a little out of date, every time I read the first-person narratives of those little people, I still cannot deny the waves that arise deep in my heart.

Many years have passed, but I still remember watching The Rap of China in 2017, and Vava sang the cover of "Life's Struggle". I can still recite the lyrics. "I don't care what you think, where are you when I need spiritual salvation?" "I slowly went from being reckless to being solid, I was looking for treasures in the dirty mud." The sincerity and desire to change my fate was so burning that it infected me.

The same is true of Gai's early works, such as the passionate "I'm here to change my fate" that he shouted in the final of "The Rap of China", and Pharaoh's "ghost face". At this year's peak show, Pharaoh's third generation hook performed a rock-core version of "I Want" on the same stage. Although it is second-year and delusional, it is the little bit of unwillingness and desire of us who are born as small people.

We will tolerantly watch those Ha-ers speaking lyrics like "I'm going to carve aka on my grave" that give goosebumps, and pretend to sing "CDC cypher asks the industry to collectively review" in a menacing manner, secretly smacking heartfelt passages like "A poor kid lives in a city of rich people, trying to use spirit to fight against material things."

A beat, a verse, a punchline are often enough to turn a grassroots singer who loves rhyme around. Of course, these grassroots singers who have entered the mainstream often cannot become perfect idols, and they often fuck up.

Many people who are not interested in earthy culture are not really interested in the life of the lower classes. Xia Zhiyu released a Chinese rap album "Young Fresh Chin II" this year, in which he imitated the tone of a successful rapper and said, "If they really come here, they can't stand the dirt and stench, but after it becomes a story, they are full of praise." This sentence accurately satirizes many hypocrisies.

But I have no intention of criticizing. I originally just wanted to write about the daily life of wild people. There is a line in "The Athlete" that was shouted in the crazy chaos, "It is more meaningful to be interesting than to be meaningful." My friend and I laughed not only at a "bad joke", but also at a "climax" of a punchline. We laughed all night for the ingenious complaints we came up with, such a trivial thing that is not enough to be engraved on the calendar of life.

Writing this, I recall that when I didn’t understand the Ha people, I also couldn’t quite understand the ACG world, why some people’s cyber world was more important than their real life, and I didn’t understand many vulgar, trivial and specific daily joys. The essence of Ha is a philosophy of worldly life for small people.

Even with the introduction of gender perspectives and the suppression of censorship, I have lost interest in it several times. But at those moments when I grew up, I wanted to thank the people of Ha from the bottom of my heart for the simple and straightforward happy dopamine that I brought to me during the "screen time" I spent alone as an adult.

At the same time, it also taught me something more important than taste and aesthetics.
