half corn

The way back was much quieter than when we came.

In the first part, there was no one by my side, and in the middle, a woman came. At first glance, she seems to be about the same age as me. She moves in a hurry, and her belongings are also streamlined, such as a small satchel, a boiled corn and sugar-free Coke.

When she got to the seat, she took a few deep breaths before putting down the small table and set up her own simple breakfast. He got up slightly, and in the gap of less than a second in the air, he also turned the position of the shoulder bag to the right.

After making all these preparations, she took a long breath like a modern person who has experienced barbarism and regained city life, so she came up with the idea of Coke.

During this period, I just silently observed her behavior, watching her reach out to the soda bottle that was full of water vapor and bulging, I already had some bad premonitions for her.

Grasping it, she exerted her force rather easily. At first, it looked very normal, but soon as I expected, the brown and white foam quickly rushed to the mouth of the bottle, and immediately overflowed.

Seeing such an 'accidental' situation, she probably panicked in her heart. Her initial reaction was to stick her head over, take a sip, recognize the situation again, and pick up the bottle cap and screw it back on. At this point, the soda had been sprinkled everywhere from the small table.

For planned trips, I always like to do some thorough preparations, so I fumbled around in my bag and found a box of paper towels. After a little hesitation, I handed it to her.

Looking at her reaction, she seemed to be very grateful for my help. She took out only one or two and spread them on the small table. She found that the effect was minimal, so she took out a few and added them. After wiping the small table and the surrounding sugar water, she gave me the tissue again. After calming down, she tried to unscrew the Coke bottle carefully again.

Seeing her 'safely' drinking her Coke, I stopped watching her behavior, turned around, and thought about something of my own.

After a while, I, who had nothing to do, was again attracted by the sound of the plastic bag. She was struggling with the corn through the plastic bag. At first, I just thought she Divide this corn into two sections to make my eating look more decent, and I fall into my unreasonable fantasy again.

After a while, I noticed she poked my arm, I looked at her, and she handed me a piece of corn. I recognized that this was the reason why she worked hard just now, but I was embarrassed to take it. After some shirk, she still insisted on giving it to me, and I also accepted her kindness.

Although I don't understand sociology, in my imagination, sharing food is probably a very high courtesy, thank this girl.

With this kind of awareness, even if I have simply eaten breakfast, I still devour the half of the corn.

Honestly, in terms of food alone, the corn tastes average, a little firmer, more starchy, but a little less sweet, which is the case with a lot of the corn I've had in the South. Coincidentally, its hardness reminds me of the roasted corn in my hometown.

It needs to be freshly picked corn from someone else's farmland, peel off the outermost layer, remove the floc, and leave only a thin layer of skin, so that the surface of the corn kernels can be roasted and crisped. You can also try to poke the corn kernels. If a lot of juice can flow out, the roasted corn must be sweet. In addition, prepare a branch or iron drill.

In homes with stoves, most people prepare a 'fire stick', and people in my hometown read the first character (bá) with a child's accent at the back, which sounds very interesting.

For me, use an iron rod through the cob of the corn, raise the wood for cooking rice or vegetables, and bake for a few minutes, making sure to bake the outer layer until it is slightly charred, and it tastes delicious.

At the next stop, the girl left, and my memories ended.

"Goodbye." I whispered when I got up to give way.

She heard my words, nodded at me, and smiled.

"goodbye."
