The highest point of Yuanquan Ancient Road is on the side of Shilonggong Mountain.

MacLehose Trail

Relying on the good weather that year, I went to the abandoned school with my friends to take pictures, and then retreated in the direction of MacLehose Trail.
The itinerary failed abnormally, and it took the dull concrete forest road to slowly climb to Lianhua Mountain and then to Tsuenjinwa.
Most of Hong Kong’s mountain valleys are also accessible in all directions, and Tsuen Kam’s valley also has buses running every hour, so it is finally accessible by public transportation.

Shangtang

There is another branch road from Yuanquan Ancient Road to Shangtang Village.
Back then, I had to rely on physical maps to plan my itinerary, and I even wanted to take a shortcut from Shangtang to Hebei Reservoir.
The road conditions on the way to Shangtang Village were obvious, but the trail behind the village was overgrown with weeds, and even fallen trees blocked the way.
It took many hardships to reach a place where the mine was suspected of dumping waste rocks. After finding no way out, he turned back.
It is rare that Yan and his wife encountered this waterloo when they were walking together back then. It was really unfortunate .

Hebei Reservoir

The area of Hebei Reservoir is small, only two kilometers around it.
Because of an isolated island in the center of the pond and the unique double-arc water tyrant, it was once voted as a hidden pond .
There are farms and villages below the pond, and you can take a minibus to connect to the Yuen Long area.

The most depressing part of Yuanquan Ancient Road is that, except for the open landscape of the stone ridge arch in the early stage, the whole process is wandering in the valley, and the foot of the ancient road is no longer Shi Deng .
Finally, we can see another scene, Jiqing Bridge, which is three or four kilometers away.
Located on the edge of Tai Lam Reservoir, it descends along the concrete forest road from Tsuen Jin Ao to the end. It is the last supply point for Trailwalkers.
