The theme of the music monthly report will share the good music heard in the month in the form of once a month! Originally, I wanted to focus on a few groups that were shortlisted for the Best Orchestra of the Golden Melody Awards, because I felt that the finalists this year were all quite powerful. However, I found that many groups have been introduced in the past, or are already quite popular. In the end, I only chose I Mean Us for the time being, and the others may be recommended to you later. The rest of the recommendations are still in the original way, sharing the good songs and new albums discovered this month!

"The Chairs | Shangri-La Is Calling"

The rock music that is a little bit psychedelic, a little lyrical, and a little pop always makes people fall into a comfortable environment created by them, and this new album has maintained a very high quality without exception.

They are a three-person orchestra with a small number of people, but they can still arrange the songs very richly. The lyrics are in Chinese, English, and songs written in Taiwanese. In 2019, he won the Golden Melody Award for Best Singing Combination and received a lot of praise in the independent music circle.

Like Elephant Gymnastics introduced last month, the Chair Orchestra has also performed at Audiotree Live and performed on well-known foreign stages such as the SXSW Music Festival in Texas. It is one of the few Taiwanese orchestras to enter the international stage.

Their new album "Shangri-La Is Calling" will be released on July 8th, 2022, and all I know is that there is another album that can be crazy loop in the beautiful holiday.

"OHMYMEITING"

(Image credit: OHMYMEITING | Towards Thirty album cover)

Recently, I have entered a crossroads in my life. I feel a little confused about the future full of unknowns. When I opened Spotify, this album "Towards Thirty" appeared on my homepage. Although I was still a long way from thirty, But I really want to hear how the voice(?) of people approaching their 30s sounds. Is it the same as me recently, full of fear of the unknown?

But I didn't expect to wait for my singing in front of me. In an instant, I felt a simple and moving melody, a warm, full and magnetic voice. It is quite interesting that there is also a track in front of each song, which makes me feel I have the feeling of digging a treasure and it's worth it.

Especially in this song, "With a hanging heart, step into another stage of life. Maybe now you will feel anxious and uneasy about the future..." It makes me feel that people can't stop their age from growing. Maybe this kind of anxiety and anxiety is not just me, and these various feelings are the special medicine for us to constantly force ourselves to grow up!

After inquiries, I found out that she is a Singaporean singer-songwriter. If there is a chance to see her Live in Taiwan in the future, I hope to listen to her.

"Yerin Baek"

Yerin baek is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She was originally a member of a girl group. Later, because her contract with a brokerage company expired, she decided to set up her personal music label "Blue Vinyl" to become an independent singer-songwriter. She also organized a new band "The Volunteers" "Going on my own musical journey and continuing to make it to this day is pretty amazing.

Her creations are still more lyrical and R&B style, with her thick singing and superb singing skills, the whole sound is quite comfortable, looking forward to her new works in the future.

"I Mean Us"

(Image source: I Mean Us Facebook fan page)

The first time I heard I Mean Us was because I found out that Mandark had another band when I was checking other songs of Sweet John, and I came over to listen to it from Sweet John. This kind of brisk Dream pop and psychedelic rock soon became very popular. Let me indulge in it and become one of my favorite bands.

The name of this group is quite special, and they explained the origin of the group name in an exclusive interview about playing music: "When communicating in English, 'I mean us...' is a very casual sentence 'I mean us...', I I feel that as soon as this sentence appears, it is like directly narrowing the distance between each other, and 'we' form a range and share this world."

They are also on Audiotree this year, along with dinosaur skins! Really super cute must take the time to listen to it!
