Satoshi Nakamoto, the father of Bitcoin
Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed inventor of Bitcoin , has won what could be the verdict of the cryptocurrency century in a civil lawsuit, with a jury clearing Craig Wright of fraud charges. Craig Wright said that he will donate some bitcoins for charitable purposes in the near future, and at the same time prove the true identity of "Satoshi Nakamoto".
According to foreign media reports, the controversial 1.1 million Bitcoins were mined by the pseudonym "Satoshi Nakamoto" . Craig Wright claimed that he was Satoshi Nakamoto in 2016. In the Bitcoin white paper "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer" in 2008 Electronic Cash System describes the basic framework of Bitcoin, however, this claim has been disputed in court.
The lawsuit is between Craig Wright and his former partner Dave Kleiman. The family of late engineer David Kleiman sued in federal court, accusing Craig Wright of misappropriating David Kleiman's estate, including bitcoin-related development materials, intellectual property rights, and 1.1 million bitcoins that were never used. Dave Kleiman's family said "Wright stole Bitcoin from their relationship" while the two were still business partners.
The jury concluded that the two parties had no business partnership, so Craig Wright did not have to pay the Dave Kleiman family compensation, but must pay $100 million in compensation to the intellectual property of their joint venture, W&K Information Defense Research LLC. This is the second verdict, which also symbolizes that Craig Wright's identity as "Satoshi Nakamoto" has been certified by the court.
