[Matters Newcomer Punch Card] Greetings from the End of the World

Hello everyone, I am a little intellectual who likes to read and embrace the truth. Now I live in New Zealand. From Google Earth, New Zealand is far away from all continents. It really seems like the end of the world. Most of the people here are kind-hearted, tolerant and open-minded. In contrast, what happened this year has completely torn the entire Chinese society. People seem to be swayed by uncontrollable emotions and lose the patience to listen and communicate. Fortunately, I found Matters, a rational and open communication platform, which saved me from political depression. I embrace the science, rationality, and humanism brought about by the Enlightenment, and hope that through popular science, more people can also benefit from rational thinking. Although we all have different identities and have completely different values, no matter if you write in traditional or simplified, Chinese and Mandarin allow us to communicate in a common language, which makes it easier to stimulate the collision of ideas.
