Performing Arts Marketing: A Market Fair for Vegetables or Radishes
The Arts Market is nothing more than a performance trade fair. The participating performance groups must be able to grasp five values:
1. Develop visibility 2. Develop market 3. Create high economic benefits 4. Give SHOWCASE to seller for evaluation 5. Communicate with international performers (brokers)
Art activities in Asia include "Tokyo Art Market" which moved from Tokyo to Yokohama, Seoul Art Market in South Korea, "LIVE! Singapore" founded in 2010, and "China Shanghai International Arts Festival Performance Fair". In recent years, Taiwan has also held the World Music Festival every October, Dadaocheng International Arts Festival and three Taipei Festivals (Taipei Arts Festival, Taipei Children's Arts Festival and Taipei Fringe Festival, etc.). In Europe and the United States, there are the well-known SXSW (South by Southwes), APAM (Australian Performing Arts Market) in Brisbane, Australia, and the world-renowned British " Edinburgh Fringe Festival" and "Avignon Arts Festival" (Festival ). d'Avignon) et al.
Most people may not know the difference between "Fringe Festival" and "Art Festival", or they have rarely heard of "Fringe Festival"; in a broad and simple sense, "Art Festival" "Sui Festival" refers to non-mainstream groups formed, "art" is already famous or licensed. At first glance, although Fringe is an art festival composed of non-mainstream groups, its output value is quite amazing. The world's first Fringe originated in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, which is also known as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The beginning of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival actually has a little allusion. In 1947, eight unsponsible performance groups came to the Edinburgh Arts Festival to perform. To describe these unknown and uninvited teams, it took 12 years for Fringe to officially become a member of Art Festival. The performance groups of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival have grown year by year. From 1980 to 2000, the number of performing groups doubled from more than 300 groups. Since 2010, it has reached 1,900 groups. The Fringe Festival, which ended in 2015, has a total of 3,314 groups from 49 countries. join. I don't think anyone would have guessed at the time that these humble performances have become a big selling point in supporting Edinburgh's tourism years later. An interesting phenomenon to see on that day is that Fringe's momentum and output value have already greatly surpassed the festival. Last year (2015), more than 250,000 performers from all over the world gathered in Edinburgh Fringe. During the month, a total of 3,314 performance groups from 49 countries participated in more than 300 theaters. The entire Fringe Festival has a total of 50,000 performances, which is equivalent to more than 2,000 performances every day. Smaller cities compete. In 2016, Taiwan's visibility at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was also increasing. In 2016, " Puppet Theatre Troupe ", " Hsu Chen Wei Production ", " Resident Island Dance Theatre ", " Water Shadow " were selected from 48 groups. The dance group Water Reflection Dance Ensemble ", " Erhu Teaching at Yanyun Square " and " Tainan People's Theatre Troupe " were replaced by six troupes.
