"Enduring humiliation" at the school sports meeting

Nothing is possible until someone makes it possible.

No one could see it, but I was a very energetic person, especially as a kid. Climbing trees, flipping parallel bars, sprinting, everything is fine. When I was a student in China, I swept the women's 100-meter event in the school sports meeting from grades one to eight. However, as a pure amateur sprinter, I don't know anything about how to start and how to use muscles. Even, I used to move in an S-shape on a 100-meter straight runway. As a result, for the first five years of the Games, I didn't get a single accolade. Watching others run past me time and time again, the gust of wind they brought up blows directly on me. I want to catch up with them, but I have more than enough energy.

It should have been the hope of the whole class, but after five years of mediocrity, I gradually became the target of public criticism. I wanted to change the impression of my classmates and teachers on me, and because I couldn’t swallow it in my heart, when I was in sixth grade, I volunteered again and raised my hand: “I signed up for 100 meters.” As soon as the words came out, the whole class sighed. Laughing, discussing in a low voice, sneering, and miscellaneous words stuck in my heart like a knife. There were more and more spittle stars in the classroom, until the teacher clapped the table and shouted "Quiet! You can go!", my ears were at peace.

But only a moment of peace. After the teacher left, a classmate who spoke very meanly walked up to me in front of the whole class, his face was full of ridicule, and he patted the back of my head vigorously. I frowned and turned to look at him. "xxx, you can't run straight, and you still want to be the first? It's been five years since you ran with me. With your short legs, if you can get the top three, pigs can climb trees! Hahahahaha!" He finished. In a word, he ran out amidst the laughter of the whole class. I clenched my fists, caught up with him, and grabbed his collar. He raised his eyebrows and looked at me with a "what can you do to me" face. I looked at him, who was half a head taller than me, and whose arms were nearly twice my thickness. After thinking for two seconds, my clenched fists gradually loosened. The hand holding the collar pushed him aside, turned and walked out of the teaching building.

I stared at the crimson runway illuminated by the setting sun and fell into self-doubt. What the classmate said was not unreasonable. When I was 11 years old, my height was only 140cm, and my legs were not long enough. People took me two steps with one step. He squatted down, touched the white line on the runway, and rubbed his ink. The runway had just been refurbished during the recent summer vacation, and it still smelled vaguely of plastic. A shadow appeared in his mind. She sweated profusely on the playground, and finally burst into some extremely bright place, surrounded by flowers and applause. The back figure slowly turned around and smiled at me, only then did I see her appearance.

It's me. There was some kind of force pulling me somewhere, and I squatted on the starting line unconsciously. Carefully recall the starting skills taught by the teacher in the physical education class, and explore a little bit. Look straight ahead, push your legs, and rush out. I didn't run two steps, because I charged too hard, and I fell and gnawed on the mud, and my knees in shorts were knocked off a layer of skin. I blew on the wound and returned to the starting point.

I also don't remember how long I practiced and how sore my legs were. My friend L wanted to wait for me, but I kindly "driven" him home. I am preparing for a moment. A moment that made me build up.

The school sports meeting is at the end of September, and it is already late autumn in the city where I live. I was wearing short-sleeved shorts and my long hair was tied back. The temperature that day was only about 10 degrees, facing the rising sun, standing on the starting line, my skin and muscles were hot. There is a fire in my heart, a fire that carries honor, mission, and dignity. My class is sitting right next to the track. Not surprisingly, no one was following me. I smiled lightly, my breathing accelerated, my adrenaline surged instantly, and the flame in my heart turned into a raging flame.

"Everyone, get ready..."

"bang!"

I'm like a cheetah, and that gunshot is the signal that the chains are broken. I don't even know how the students in the class reacted. I just stare ahead, the track is the grassland and the prey is the finish line. I heard the wind, my own breathing and footsteps. For the first time, I ran without anyone in the corner of my eye, just watching the prey get closer and closer. My explosiveness was so strong that the person pulling the line at the finish didn't have time to let go. I smashed the finish line, hit a cushion 30 meters away due to inertia, bounced back, and nearly fell to the ground. Seeing this, L ran over and hugged me, "You're amazing, you're number one!" I exhaled and said slowly, "It's like a dream."

When it was announced on the radio that I was the champion, the students in the class collectively came to a "face change of Sichuan opera". I smiled lightly, watching their expressions range from disdain, to gossip, to contempt, to disbelief. Repeatedly confirming that there is no problem with my ears, the classmate who almost met me with a "heavy fist" twisted his face and said, "You... how is that possible?" I looked at the finish line, and then at the rising The higher sun, said lightly: " Nothing is possible until someone makes it possible. I just happen to be that person."

Then I won the 100m for two years in a row. If I hadn't come to America, I would have won a fourth championship. Champion prizes are a nice little fan, I brought them to the US for 9 years and they are still working fine.

A few years later, L asked me, "You were so concerned about the sports meeting at that time, not just for the class honor."

"Of course not," I replied, "I want to create some value in my study life and leave a response. More importantly, I want to prove that I can be despised, despised and disappointed by everyone. , slapped that gang in the face with the results of my abilities.

I did it, didn't I?
