Cross-chain guide|How to transfer USDT from Polygon chain to Optimism (OP)
From now on, Matters will join the high-quality creator economic ecosystem to bring more resources to authors. The USDT public chain on the site will be transferred from Polygon to Optimism . So, how do we transfer USDT on Polygon to Optimism?
First, we enter Optimism’s official cross-chain bridge (Bridge) website.
Cross-chain refers to the technology to achieve interoperability between different blockchains. There are different protocols between different blockchains, so cross-chain technology needs to be used. Here, the public chain Matters used to use was the Polygon chain. Therefore, after joining the OP ecosystem, if readers want to support the creator's articles, they need to cross-chain USDT from Polygon to the OP.
As shown in Figure 1, after entering Optimism’s official cross-chain bridge (Bridge) website, you need to Connect Wallet (connect wallet), select Withdraw (withdrawal), From Polygon, Token to deposit (withdrawal cryptocurrency) and select USDT. This article The guide will choose to use the third-party cross-chain service provider listed on the OP website: Hop Protocol as a demonstration.
As shown in Figure 2, you need to connect the wallet you bound to Matters. In this demonstration, MetaMask will be selected.
As shown in Figure 3, please ensure that the correct encryption wallet is connected in the upper right corner. After ensuring that the Mainnet in the wallet is Polygon, choose to send USDT from Polygon to Optimism, set the amount, and then press Approve.
As shown in Figure 4, you need to confirm "Approve USDT" again, which means allowing Hop Protocol to transfer your USDT in MetaMask.
As shown in Figure 5, your encrypted wallet will pop up in the window. The gas fee during the demonstration (the fee required to execute the smart contract) is 0.01 US dollars (that is, 0.0075 Matic). The gas fee for the transfer will be Calculated in Matic, please make sure there is Matic currency in the encrypted wallet.
As shown in Figure 6, now that you have approved the cross-chain bridge transfer of USDT, you need to allow the service provider to send USDT from Polygon again to complete the cross-chain step.
As shown in Figure 7, your encrypted wallet will pop up in the window. The sending operation also requires gas fee. The gas fee during the demonstration (the fee required to execute the smart contract) is 0.17 US dollars (that is, 0.164 Matic). This gas fee will be calculated in Matic, please make sure there is Matic currency in your encrypted wallet. Please slide to the bottom in the wallet and click "Approve".
As shown in Figure 8, the cross-chain has been completed. You can click "Add USDT to MetaMask" to display the USDT currency in the encrypted wallet, so that the currency you hold can be seen at a glance. You can also click "Import Token" and enter the token contract into "0x94b008aA00579c1307B0EF2c499aD98a8ce58e58", and the USDT value will appear.
As shown in Figure 9, USDT of 19.32 US dollars has entered the encryption wallet of OP Mainnet, and the cross-chain is completed.
