Nantou Exploring Plum Blossoms

On the first day of annual leave, as soon as I returned to Taichung, I was immediately kicked out of the house. For some reasons, even though my father, the chef, has returned, several Kung Fu dishes have been omitted from the New Year dishes. The preparations for the New Year are lightened, so I think of going out for a ride.

Nantou is surrounded by mountains and scenic spots. It has always been a key area for police calls during festivals and festivals. I remember that before the epidemic, I just went out one time and heard an appeal that the parking spaces in a certain scenic spot were full and everyone was asked not to enter again. It was about eight o'clock in the morning, and the popularity was impressive. After the opening of National Highway 6, I am not sure whether there has been any improvement, but I feel that the distance from Taichung has been shortened.

We took advantage of the New Year's Eve to make a splash. As expected, everyone was still busy preparing for the New Year. The road conditions were smooth and there were not many tourists at the destination. It was a comfortable state.

The first time I went to Xinyi, Nantou to enjoy plum blossoms, I was at Fengguidou. In addition to the flowers, there were vendors and crowds of people. I didn’t have the aroma of flowers and plants in my memory. I only remembered the smell of roasted wild boar. Further up the mountain, we reach Niuchoukeng, where there are several plum gardens. When they are in full bloom, the white flowers are everywhere, which is amazing.

It is difficult to confirm when the last visit was, but the epidemic lasted three years, so it must have been at least three years ago.

The weather is very nice and the blue is very full. With the sky as the base, you can take pictures of plum blossoms no matter how you take them. The altitude of Niuchoukeng is about more than 1,000 meters. It is said that the temperature is 6 degrees (Celsius) lower than that on the plains, but under the sunshine, it is warm to the point of being a bit hot.

Lunch was eaten in a plum garden, and there was no good food at all. However, next to the open-air seats is a slope covered with plum trees. When the wind blows, the petals of the plum blossoms flutter in the wind, making the sky look like falling snow. Japan has Sakura Blowing Snow, but here we have Ume Blowing Snow.

From here you can overlook the Junda Mountain Range, which belongs to the Yushan Mountains and has an altitude of more than 3,000 meters. It is one of the hundred mountains. Once again, I marveled at the clear weather and the magnificent mountains.

The plum trees are not very tall, so I tried to walk among them, thinking that I would be part of the romantic feeling of flowers and willows. In reality, I was hooked by the plum branches. The branches are very hard. If someone bumps into them, they will bounce back. The plum trees shake a handful of petals, and I feel in my heart. Instead, I felt guilty.

It is said that plum trees have been planted in this place since the Japanese era, and green plum trees are still a local specialty. Many plum trees do look like "old trees", but it is not clear how old they are. There are also a few small trees, and I don't know how old they are. The same generation!

The sky is so blue and the flowers are so white. Sitting under the tree is very comfortable. The petals fall in the wind, but it doesn't seem to affect the amount of flowers at all. In "Onmyoji", Boya once had a similar lament about the falling cherry blossoms, but in the end it seemed that Seimei ended it with "Everything you don't understand is a curse". I can't remember the story clearly, but at this time, I seem to understand Boya's touching mood a little bit.
