Nicolas Kokkalis (Nicholas) on October 9, Pi Network Developers (developer channel) replied to Pi friends Node related questions
On October 9th, Nicholas responded to several questions about nodes asked by Pi friends on the developer channel, as follows:
Question from Pi friends: In response to what you ( Nicolas ) said before "One of the goals of the Pi testnet is to determine the rewards that a node should receive for running a certain node. If we collect the relevant data needed to determine the most appropriate incentive mechanism, Testnet nodes will There won’t be any mining rewards.” But is there really no benefit to being a node?
Nicolas Kokkalis replies: Just a few thoughts here: The same nodes from the testnet will transition to the nodes on the mainnet. Nodes will gain reputation during the testnet, so people will later trust nodes with greater reputation on the mainnet.
You may not understand the meaning of the above dialogue. I translate it in vernacular:
Pi friends ask: Are there any benefits to testnet nodes?
Nun Russ: Running a node in the testnet stage does not actually have any benefits, and it will not pay dividends, but the testnet node is the predecessor of the mainnet node. If the testnet node is running well, the mainnet node will be trusted by more people. You have a higher chance of paying dividends.

Pi Friends Ask: Hello Dr. Nicholas, I have a question, how many nodes/supernodes do you need to handle 10 million Pi users? May I know that the number of stable nodes is already high? thanks.
Nicolas Kokkalis replies: We will provide more updates on testnet nodes at next week's conference. But to answer the question about how many nodes are needed for 10 million pioneers: the more the better, of course, the more nodes the more decentralized the network. In theory we could have just three nodes and still support many pioneers, but ideally we would have more.
While there are plenty of opportunities, all who reject Pi will miss the best of opportunities. Because getting Pi is completely free now, downloading the APP is free, and it only takes 10-20 seconds a day. For those who use the phone every day, 20 seconds is equivalent to the time to reply to a message, which is enough for Pi Network!
Anyone can participate for free simply by downloading the Pi app on their mobile phone
Come and join PI NETWORK MINING
(10~20 seconds per day, 5~10 minutes per month, only 1~2 hours per year!! How much is 10-20 seconds worth to you? But for Pi pioneer testers, it only takes 10~20 seconds per day, the rest time to do your own thing)
The Pi app can be searched in the Android Play Store or Apple's App Store: PI NETWORK download, or download the Invitation code from the following link: kyle2051
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pi-network/id1445472541
Android : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blockchainvault
If you need a code, enter kyle2051 (use this code after day 4 for a 25% speedup)
Tip: You don't need to keep the Pi app open, the Pi won't affect phone performance or drain battery power or use network data. You can even close the app after pressing the lightning button and you'll keep mining the Pi. The mining of Pi will stop every 24 hours, press the ⚡️ lightning button once again, repeat every day until the end of the distribution
