Reading Notes | "Work must be meaningful with money and love! 》Let's move towards the goal!
I met Zoey, the author of this book, and had a brief conversation at the lecture on "Her Life Design New Definition of Work - Podcaster Knowledge Realization" . She was one of the speakers of the day. Her handsome, confident and neat style attracted me, so I found her. Books to read.
Zoey, who didn't want to miss university when she was a student, planned a meticulous work plan for herself in Australia, but was shot by her father: "You're just getting ready for your escape!" After a few years, she gradually discovered that, admitting + facing, That's the beginning of being responsible. First, it is necessary to:
1. Find your passion
Uneasy about choosing one, find a way to "have both" or create a third option, don't stop at "okay". Sometimes there is no enthusiasm just because the knowledge is not deep enough, and I haven't stepped out to try, and I have a pure heart. Three steps to turn passion into professionalism: choose > verify > cultivate (willing to learn by yourself, shorten the gap between reality and ideal) Consciously maintain a "growth mindset."
2. Give meaning to life and work
Align your "life style" with your "core values"
I learned the most from this chapter. The author believes that the ideal life is the same: a healthy body, flexible time, stable assets , and I think "close relationships" can be added, whether it is family or friends. And the "ideal values" that you and I consider will not only be different, but also full of changes; what we each think is a great state today may suddenly find that it is not enough/too much in two or three months, or next year, Only by wanting more/less can you achieve a balance in your heart, and then reorganize or move forward for a new "meaning".
The "meaning (Ikigai)" mentioned on page 81 of the book is particularly thought-provoking. The value of life is to find talent (what you are good at), passion (what you enjoy), and professionalism (someone will pay you to do it). In addition to things) , if we add the “things the world needs”—the mission of transcending ourselves , perhaps the “meaning” that we are looking for that is satisfying for our body and mind and enough to persist will become more clear.
For reference, please refer to the article and pictures published by the author in "Assistant Tea Room" , as shown below: (For the original text, please click here)
3. Bridging the gap between passion and professionalism
We often overestimate the consequences of "doing" and underestimate the consequences of "not doing." From amateur to professional through "deliberate practice": continue to ask for advice, design a study plan, and create an environment.
Fourth, let the market see you and start realizing
Take the initiative to create the first set of MVP (Minimum Viable Product) to verify the market value => can solve problems, have business opportunities, and be optimized to think about brand monetization: theme / market positioning / professional technology / resource utilization
5. Let the realization be more than a flash in the pan
Continuous output, closely linked to core vision, positioning, profit model, traffic and marketing. Maintain stable cash flow and sell to those who really need it, don't sell in a way that you don't like!
We all have choices at all times: a good choice / a choice to be true to ourselves.
This book is recommended for people who are beginning to find meaning in life/work, especially those who have already developed the idea of slashes. They should be more interested in the relevant chapters of realization; if you have not found what you want to slash like me , you can still get a different way of thinking about the value of life, let yourself pay attention to maintaining "the principle of life above the principle of work" , become a professional with a growth mindset , and when there are too many things, prioritize the "cognition" of things (In order of importance) rather than time management, etc., this is a work worth reading a few more times!
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
