#Very interesting The 16TB of "16TB SSD" is just the model name. It is suspected that the Chinese store was removed from the Japanese Yahoo!
Recently, two screenshots have been circulated on Twitter, which are screenshots of a third-party store in Japan's Yahoo! online store, showing 16TB, 8TB, and 4TB of portable SSD products. The actual capacity is only 512GB, 256GB, and 158GB, which has attracted public attention.
These two screenshots are from the personal Twitter of netizen Takashi Watanabe. The photos show a third-party store called "sachishop", a Yahoo! Japanese online store, which sells a variety of portable devices labeled "16TB", "8TB" and "4TB". For SSD products, there are small characters at the bottom of the product description, indicating that the above "16TB" is only the product model name of the SSD. The description indicates that the actual capacity of the SSD named "16TB" is only 512GB, the actual capacity of the SSD with the model "8TB" is only 256GB, and the actual capacity of the product with the model "500GB" is only 64GB.
The price of the "500GB" model (actual capacity: 64GB) is 3,480 yen (about HK$212).
Although the actual capacity is clearly stated on the product description page, many people think that the "16TB" displayed on the product is equivalent to having a capacity of 16TB when purchasing a storage device. Netizens think that they are suspected of cheating. There are also netizens who think the Japanese grammar of the product page is weird, and believe that the third-party online store is behind Chinese capital.
Later, the product has been removed from the Japanese Yahoo! online store, and the page of the product cannot be found using the search engine.
