The Application of LikeCoin: From Turning Likes to Appreciation to Writing NFTs
LIKE is the only cryptocurrency I haven't sold for cash. I always believe that LIKE is a good medium for carrying creative value.
Turn praise into appreciation
The first time I understood what LIKE was, I was more fascinated by the slogan "Turn praise into appreciation".
For the usual compliment behavior, the person who clicks it casually clicks, and the person who receives it, apart from looking at the number of likes after posting like a poison, many people are ecstatic, and no one is very frustrated. But this unhealthy pursuit of pure vanity has gained weight through LIKE appreciation with real value.
If it is not for the behavior of posting a fixed manuscript fee, usually posting an article on the Internet, it is a preset expectation that there is not much income when it is posted. When likes become likes, the frustration of not having a Like is lessened. On the contrary, when someone appreciates, because they know that the person who gives LIKE is not unlimited and random, but selectively Likes, so after receiving LIKE, they can feel the sense of recognition that readers really give.
Appreciate Citizenship Monthly Fee
The original monthly fee for the appreciation function can be used to support writers on a regular basis like a membership system.
Membership, before Patreon became famous, actually had several programs. But I've never wanted to keep instructional text behind a paywall. I think teaching texts should be easily accessible so that more people can be promoted by learning from what others have shared. And this is not a one-way sharing for others to improve, but for everyone to share and everyone to learn.
The appreciation of citizens is voluntary support, and the articles can be read by everyone, but they can still be supported one by one for a monthly fee.
Writing NFTs
After upgrading to become a delegated Web3 appreciation citizen in January 2022, it will return to the original appreciation, that is, to support articles alone. The launch of Writing NFT makes up for this aspect of supporting authors. And I think it's the better solution.
I have thought about selling teaching articles on an article-by-article basis. I have researched earlier on connecting the articles to Gumroad and selling them on a $1-by-$1 basis, but is an article worth $1?
$0.99 per song on iTunes and $0.99 to $2.99 for iOS mini-games
At this price, the payer buys entertainment for a long time, and even songs are entertainment for a long time. Note: The mini-games I'm still playing were bought years ago with a one-time payment of $0.99–$2.99.
I have always believed that articles, especially instructional ones, have value to readers. It is directly solving the searcher's difficulties. Imagine you're currently looking for a technical solution article that addresses a pressing need. But what a frustrating experience when you're so excited to see the title and think you've found the answer, only to click into the article and find out that you're asking for a $1 fee. On the contrary, if after reading, the article does solve the searcher's problem, and then give a few LIKE tips as tips, it will be natural. Further, if the article has its collection value, it can be further collected in the form of Writing NFT for permanent preservation.
A good article can give the reader a point or two to think about. And a top-level article can have a real impact, and even change people's behavior in the long run. For example, GTD's 50,000-foot high-altitude article was published in 2008, but it still affects my life decision-making.
On the contrary, a very ordinary article, that is, after reading it, it is not even worth reading. If the articles are blocked behind a paywall, the buyer is at risk, and it is conceivable that the number of ordinary articles will be far more than the good ones. Over time people won't be willing to pay for the benefits of an article they might not necessarily get for a gamble.
But as mentioned, I really don't like putting articles behind paywalls, which is why I haven't posted much to Medium since Medium charges.
The mechanism of Writing NFT starts with a small number of LIKEs. The more people collect, the higher the collection price, calculated in multiples. So if an article with long-term impact is expected to bring in LIKE revenue, it will be better than a lot of ordinary articles. In this way, the author can be more encouraged to create with heart, and secondly, high-quality articles can stand out from the crowd. You must know that the difficulty of turning Good into Great in creation does not increase linearly, so the collection value of Writing NFT also increases linearly in a reasonable manner.
taste
Now everyone is very resistant to slow-motion activities like reading, and everything is fast. Reading is also to read the one-hour speed reading , half-hour focus , ten-minute focus , and one page of pictures and texts that have been sorted out by others.
The situation is similar to when reading a novel, in the blank time between reading and reading, the plot of the novel will slowly ferment and brew in your mind, and you will think about the important points that are meaningful to you for a long time. But when we condense reading novels into watching two or three hours of movies, it will become a fleeting moment, and we only enjoy the visual impact and ignore the space for thinking, but do not accumulate.
With Writing NFT, because the collection is no longer a weightless press of a Bookmark button, it is a real money and silver contribution. If you're not a born shopaholic, you'll pay attention, no matter how much you spend. If you focus on it, you will read it carefully, and if you don't read it carefully, you will at least finish it.
Creation is valuable, but it also needs to be supported by Bole.
