The bottleneck of writing / have you been stuck on drafts?
Recently, several young friends who have just started to practice writing talked about some writing problems. One of the problems is that every time I write and write, I suddenly feel that what I write is boring and not good-looking, and then I can't write again. I have been down, so I often leave half of my writing there, and then I re-think about writing other things, but I keep encountering the same problem.
It seems that what is written is boring and ugly, which has become a bottleneck for most writers.
This kind of problem is placed in the general prose essay writing, the problem is small, after all, the single article, I think it is not good-looking or very boring, the big deal is to lose the pen and not write it, because the number of words is not many, change the theme and change the theme and rewrite it Maybe it's better than digging the horns over there, but if this problem is placed on the author of the novel, the problem is bigger.
A novel often starts at 50,000 to 60,000 words, and now the novel may be longer. A novel requires at least 100,000 words. If you write a few chapters, you will feel that what you have written is boring and not good-looking, and then write again. I can't write it anymore , I don't know when the novel will be completed XD
And some of the "card drafts" that the authors often talk about are also caused by this reason.
Because I have written novels for more than 20 years and published more than 100 novels, people often like to ask me >>
"Aren't you good at drafting? How can you write so many works?"
"How can I not get stuck? I get stuck on every book I write!" I replied with a smile.
"Then do you ever feel that what you write is boring and unattractive?" Another asked.
"Of course it does, but it's usually temporary. When I put it aside for a few days, and then come back to read it again, I suddenly feel that it's actually pretty good to write this way, and I continue to write it happily. already."
Of course, if it's boring and unattractive after a few days of watching it, then, what should I do? Can't rewrite it with a different story? That's too tragic.
Therefore, when I encounter such a problem when writing a novel, I will definitely find out the reason why I think it is not good-looking and remove it. It may be a frame problem when designing the story structure at the beginning, or it may be that the plot that I thought was not rich and three-dimensional. , it may be that the tension is not enough, or it may be that the rhythm is too slow or not compact enough...
Only by finding out the real problem can we prescribe the right medicine, and what needs to be corrected must be corrected.
Writing is the same.
