It is such a blessing to be able to contribute one's ability to something that one agrees with.

This afternoon (actually it was yesterday) I saw a message from JohnShao in the Discord group

Help: I made some YouTube teaching videos. For efficiency, I speak Mandarin so that users in Hong Kong and Taiwan can understand it. But friends who have participated in the AMAs I hosted should understand that my Mandarin is terrible. Are there any Taiwanese friends willing to help match these videos with Mandarin? Hope to have a sweet male/female voice

Although I don't think I have a sweet voice😅😅, but on the one hand, I agree with the concept of LikeCoin very much, and I have always thought that if there is something I can help, I will definitely be willing to do it, on the other hand, I feel that borrowing By dubbing these teaching videos, I can also learn more about blockchain, so I raised my hand and signed up. I found out later that I always thought I had joined LikeCoin's Discord, but it turned out that I didn't 😅😅, so I officially joined this opportunity.

Because this happened 10 minutes before my work, I could only leave a message that I could help in a hurry. I said hello first and said that I would disappear for a while, and then I went to work. This time, 4 hours have passed.

Pre-dubbing work

After I was done, I went back to Discord and looked at the messages. I found that someone added me and lost my private message. Later, I found out that it was not John Shao who was looking for dubbing, but a person I didn’t know (edmondyu), but it was not important. It's the same effort for LikeCoin anyway, he first threw me a video for me to try, it was a " how to install Keplr and use LikeCoin " video.

Although I'm not sure how he wants to record, but based on my poor blockchain knowledge, I can only dub word by word, because he doesn't have a speech, so I have to dictate the speech and dub it myself. What I thought of at this time was

Let's generate subtitles first!

Then I downloaded the video and threw it into my familiar editing software to have it automatically generate subtitles

The computer interpretation must still be wrong, so I still have to read it word by word. Fortunately, I usually edit a 10-minute film. This kind of film that is less than 5 minutes suddenly feels relaxed and freehand, and it really proves one sentence- pain is Compare 🤣🤣.

The most painful part of dealing with subtitles is that because my blockchain knowledge is too poor and my English ability is not good, sometimes I have to take the time to check what are those English proper nouns? And try not to Misspelled, and because I have to dub at the end, I also have to keep in mind the English pronunciation of each English proper noun. I remember that what bothered me the most was the English--Mnemonic Seed of the annotated word. I still couldn't remember how to pronounce it in the end, so I could only sneak a few steps to let the speaker finish reading it and then read it along 🤣🤣.

Official dubbing~

After the subtitles are processed, the dubbing will officially start, because I really have no confidence in my English, so before the official dubbing, I practiced on the screen a few times, and for the convenience of editing, I hope to be able to "mirror" In the end, otherwise it would be difficult to find a suitable timeline to go back to if I made a mistake in the middle, so I practiced until I could hardly eat screws before I started recording.

I don’t know if everyone remembers that I once said that I took a short-term dubbing experience class , but the after-class dubbing was the voice of the Powerpuff Girls, and there were pictures to lip-synch, but this time there was no speaker. The screen looks relatively simple, but in fact, it is always a little slower because I don't know when the speaker's next sentence will start, but because I have already generated subtitles, I try to put the subtitles before the subtitles disappear. After the sentence is finished, I hope that this sneaking step will not let the audience see it 🤣🤣.

Pressing the video playback and recording buttons at the same time, I started recording! Maybe it was because I had practiced a few times in advance, so the first time I recorded it was ok!! I just replayed it to listen to the sound quality, and found that I was too nervous It was too close to the microphone, which caused the sound to sound pretty bad even though I used a good microphone. After thinking about it for 2 seconds, I decided to record it again. The second time I was more conscious to keep a good distance from the microphone, and I would eat a screw in the middle. It failed once, and in the third recording, I finally completed the dubbing with good sound quality.

After re-listening, I found that some words were sprayed with wheat. After re-listening for several times, I decided to hand over this version. This problem will be improved next time when I have a chance😜😜😜.

Submit it!

After recording the audio file, the srt subtitle file was generated smoothly, and the two files were thrown to the speaker together, and a message was left.

I will also show you the subtitle file for you to see how to use it. I don’t think it’s unclear at all. If you can turn on the subtitles and watch the dubbing, I feel that there is still a little error. The part that I talk about is faster. There is a slight time difference between the dubbing and the subtitles.

It didn't take long for the speaker to put the new video on the shelves, and put my dubbing and subtitle files on it. He said that I am very efficient, and I think he is! 👍👍 And the amazing thing is that in the video he uploaded, The words I sprayed wheat disappeared strangely, I don't know how he handled it, but it was better than the sound file I recorded for him.

Later, he threw me some videos, saying that they were the ones he thought were more important. He asked me to dub at my own pace, and I could do them when I had time. He also gave me some LikeCoins as thank you money. I didn't expect to get thank you money. Yes, I was really pleasantly surprised. Before I knew it, I earned my second salary by dubbing again, only 3 months away from my previous opportunity.

Is this the first year of my dubbing? I suddenly had this idea in my heart, but whether it is or not, these two opportunities are what I would want to do even if I don't have a salary, and I really want to be recognized by myself. Things do, not because there is a tangible reward, but because in the process, I have been rewarded.
