706 Los Angeles | Living Room Salon: The Form of Content Media in the Age of Web3
After virtual currency, "Web3" has become the next hot word, entering the daily life from the technology industry. Whether it's a wave or a bubble, new technologies and products are starting to gain a foothold. We still don’t know the social impact of their underlying logic, but we will witness together.
What makes Web3 possible, like virtual currency, is the blockchain technology that creates and secures digital assets. Blockchain relies on decentralization, a long-cherished wish that the Internet has yet to achieve. Every technological innovation is accompanied by ideals and the shattering of ideals. What will we witness this time? Is it the final formation of the decentralized network, bringing about the next leap in human organization and consciousness, or another round of shuffling of power and capital?
As a new medium, the Internet has connected human consciousness, accumulated common memory, and brought new acceleration and tearing. Web3 promises a new kind of ownership, allowing users to own and control their attention and data, not just passive users.
So, as creators, how do we balance creation and business, and how do we get back our rights? As readers, what kind of content do we want to see, what kind of content do we want to be disseminated, and what are we willing to pay for? As entrepreneurs, what new value can new opportunities generate, and how can we capture that value?
In this living room salon, we invited the founders of three high-quality Web3 projects to discuss the form of content media in the Web3 era. Three different paths enter the same field, examine the same ecology from three different perspectives, and talk about the undercurrents surging behind the bubble.
