Experience of taking a driver's license test in Japan
At the beginning of September, I participated in a symposium held by the company I had appointed, and the seniors repeatedly emphasized the importance of the driver's license. I glanced at the calendar, and it was still summer vacation in Japan, and the autumn semester started as soon as October came, and I was going to be crazy busy again. With a slap on the forehead, well, I will take advantage of the summer vacation to get my driver's license!
After I made up my mind, I quickly searched for information on the Internet, only to find out that because of the epidemic, many driving schools that used to do boarding have canceled their courses, or temporarily refused to accept foreigners. I originally chose a driving school near the sea in Chiba, dreaming that I could go for a walk by the sea in my free time, or drive on the seaside road when I was learning to drive. It turns out that my idea was too good, and there was no such thing as a co-ed course. How about free time!
In the end, I chose a driving school in Yamagata from the driving school consultation center near my home, which is known as the largest driving school in the country. The price of the course starting in mid-September is also relatively cheap, as long as more than 230,000 yen, and you will live in a single room in a hotel* (the environment is not good, and you will only find out that it is a hotel operated by the driving school after you go there), including three meals a day, and the shortest period is 14 days of graduation. Seeing that the conditions were pretty good, I quickly signed up.
Here I would like to talk about the teaching and examination process of the Japanese joint driving school.
1, the first week
Basically, they all graduate in the shortest 14 days. On the day of your arrival, in addition to going through the enrollment procedures, you will also receive a class schedule for your first week, including 10 tutorial lessons and 12 skill lessons* (boarding).
similar to this
Don't think that you are familiar with the environment on the day of arrival, just pack your luggage and you're done. The day of arrival is considered the first day in 14 days, so of course I have to go to class as soon as I arrive~
And after the end of the first week, you have an important task to complete - pass the written test* (full score of 50, pass with 45 points or more) and the road test, and get a waiver* (temporary driver's license)
This exemption is very important, without it you will not be able to drive on the road outside the driving school, and you will not be able to do the second week of the course. So if you can't pass the exam, you have to keep taking the exam until you pass it.
But the co-study driving school will not let you take the exam for the license endlessly. If you fail the test 3 times, you will have to go back to your home’s exemption center for the test, and you can’t come back to start the second week’s course until you pass the test.
The written test in the exemption test should be similar to the domestic subject 1. I have not taken the driver's license test in China, so I don't know the domestic process. My driving school will give you the internal questions of the driving school, and you can log in to brush the questions with your mobile phone, and will also give you 6 lessons for brushing the questions. In each lesson, two driving school teachers will be arranged to answer your questions, and you can also do the questions repeatedly. The mode is basically the same as that of the license-free exam.
Before applying for the exam exemption, the school requires you to obtain 3 simulation scores of 47 or more* (this is actually quite difficult, because you can do a set of questions many times)
The usual class is already full, and you still have to squeeze in time to memorize and brush up questions, especially if you are a foreigner, your reading speed will be a little slower than that of Japanese students. If I was assigned an 8 o'clock class, I would have to wait for the school bus at the station at 6:50. These two weeks made me feel like I was back in my third year of high school.
From my personal experience, I was not used to such high-intensity learning at first. First of all, my Japanese is not very good, and the driving language spoken by the teacher is very unfamiliar, so it took me some time to remember those words. Secondly, I am really nervous when driving, so when I was on the road to class, my mind was often blank at the beginning because of nervousness... So I practiced the initial turning コース for a very long time, which caused my wireless driving course to be stopped. Replaced with ordinary skills lessons, and finally there is only one wireless driving lesson left. I was really disheartened at the time. I went back to have dinner every night and I still worked hard to read books, memorize and brush up the questions, but I was obviously tired before going to bed, but I was still worried that I would fail the exam and it was difficult to fall asleep. Now thinking about it, it is really special. A gloomy week.
However, because I have studied hard, I am not worried about the difficult written test that is passed on by everyone. Instead, it is the road test that makes me very worried.
My driving school arranges different coaches for each skill class, and there are very few repetitions. Fortunately, the coach who was arranged in the end taught me very seriously, and encouraged me to say that there is no problem. It made my confidence soar, and finally I also found that turning is really important in the waiver exam, because I practiced it many times, I can turn it handy. The rest of the more difficult S road and right-angle road did not fall because of the teacher's good teaching* (and luck XD). It can be regarded as a perfect test for the exemption.
Here I want to emphasize that Japanese driving schools are really very, very careful about safety confirmation ! Therefore, when you take the test on the road, you must complete the safety confirmation, and many Japanese people are very concerned about the details, so try to make the confirmation as large as possible, so that he can see that you have indeed done a good job in safety. confirm.
2. The second week
After I got the waiver, I wanted to go out with my little sister to relax, but I never expected that the driving school was still the same: what are you playing, come to class quickly.
So as soon as I got the waiver, I sent me a schedule for the second week
Still black boxes and black dots are my classes. I believe you can see that the class in the second week is better than the first week. 16 teaching lessons + 19 skill lessons - the hell mode is fully open.
My little sister and I were immediately downcast, why not relax, let's go to class quickly.
The tiredness of the second week was more physical than that of the first week, because after the second week, there was only the road test. But because of this, I am even more nervous, because I have to drive outside!
The school's arrangement is very thoughtful, and it also arranged 3 high-speed courses. The first time I got on the high speed, it was really soft to drive. Especially when passing through a tunnel that is not spacious at a speed of 80KM, I feel like my soul is about to fly away LOL.
But what impresses me the most is that I have taken three emergency first aid courses in a row. That's right, you need to learn emergency first aid when you test your driver's license in Japan, which includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and artificial respiration training LOL
I remember that the teacher at that time had a very good saying, he said [ If you master this skill, maybe there will be one less unfortunate death in this world ]
And also systematically learned the basic rescue procedures for injured people, generally speaking, it was quite fruitful.
at last
After the driving school course is over, those who pass the test will be issued a graduation certificate instead of giving you a real driver's license directly. You need to take your graduation certificate and a series of documents to the Licensing Center in your location and take another written test. After passing the test, you will be given a real driver's license~
The tricky thing about this is that the key points of the exam are actually different in each county. So if you come back from studying in the Northeast region, you may miss the knowledge points when you take the Kanto exam questions. So it's better to buy a set of questions and brush them before going~
All I can say about the dorm course is that thanks to it, I can re-experience the third year of high school~ It can be regarded as returning to my youth XD
Like my work? Don't forget to support and clap, let me know that you are with me on the road of creation. Keep this enthusiasm together!
