When it comes to renting a house, I must be an expert, but I am a hard-working mover.

Sometimes, I really doubt that my life will lead to relocation, as people say "the stage horse is moving", otherwise, why would I have moved six times in seven years. Every time you move, you start to accumulate experience points for renting a house, and all kinds of monster fights and dungeons are involved. Take this opportunity to share some of the most impressive stories.

I opened the door in the front, you banged the door in the back

The university is renting a house. Because of the rent consideration and wanting to share with a few classmates so that we can play and take care of each other, we chose a house with more rooms. This is a single-family house with nothing in it, just large rooms on each floor and an empty front and rear yard. The first time I rented a house, I didn’t think much about it. Anyway, each of them has furniture to be arranged. As long as they can shelter from the wind and rain, they don’t care.

One day, it was already night when I returned to the rental house. Just as I was unlocking the front door and preparing to enter, I vaguely heard the sound of "Bang! Bump! Bump!" from the back of the first floor. My roommate and I thought it was strange. The sound was very close. It seems to be coming from the house, but there can't be anyone in the house, because everyone is at the door... When the door is opened, everyone is walking into the house with doubts, and the strange sound just now disappeared immediately , My roommate and I rushed to the back of the house, only to find that the back door had been knocked crookedly and the door lock had been damaged, "Someone invaded just now!" . However, people should have run away.

In addition to being frightened, everyone hurried back to the room to check. Fortunately, it should be a coincidence that we came back just in time, and there was nothing missing in the room. But since that time, we have always felt uneasy living, and we have only received perfunctory comfort and promises to the landlord. This inactive attitude made us not renew the lease and move to a community with access control management.

I lived well last semester, but I was kicked out by foreclosure next semester

After moving to a new house, with improved security, we finally settled down. The new rental house is an elevator building with four bedrooms and two halls, which fully meets our needs. It has management, security, and convenient living functions. Although there is an additional management fee, it is worth it. We lived here for one semester, just like the life of ordinary college students who are actively working hard every day. Everything went well until one semester passed.

One day, the agent mother who had contacted the house came to us and said that the house had been forfeited by the foreclosure. The owner seems to have borrowed money from the bank and still can't come out. The property will be forced to be auctioned by the bank, and it is confirmed that a buyer has been found and the house will be handed over soon. We were stupid at the time. Did this happen very often? Doesn't this mean that we were forced to move out. Fortunately, the agent helped us find vacancies on different floors in the same community. This time the move was not too much effort, but it was unexpected, so we didn’t know what to say except helpless.

The scent is wafting downstairs, and Mickey runs upstairs

After graduation, for the convenience of work, I found a few friends to rent a house together. This time, the rented house is close to the MRT station, and the transportation is convenient. You can take a car in 3 minutes. There are also many businesses nearby, which also have good life functions, especially a noodle shop opened downstairs. We thought, how convenient it is to have something to eat downstairs.

It has four bedrooms and two living rooms, and also has basic furniture. The landlord is also a good person who can communicate. We thought we could live in peace, but one day, "Mickeys" appeared on the balcony... Of course, it's not the store downstairs, but I don't know where they came from. Because Mickey was outside, even if we found out, we didn't take any action. We wanted to say that as long as he didn't run in, it would be fine. In short, we looked at it negatively.

Unexpectedly, one roommate forgot to close the door of the balcony. When others found out, it had been a long time. Since then, everyone's psychological shadow area has increased sharply , and they are worried about whether Mickey has come in and become a new roommate. And this room, after our discussion, did not renew the lease after the lease expired.

A good landlord takes you to heaven

This time the move was not smooth, because we needed four rooms, and the agent didn't have many items at that time. Fortunately, in the end, I found it. This is a quiet lane apartment. It has all the furniture in it, and the decoration is very new, even the pots and pans are new. Because this is what the landlord wants to live in, but others were temporarily living abroad at the time, but they will come back after getting married after a notice. The surrounding environment is quite convenient, but it is far from the MRT station, and there is no elevator, so you have to go to the fourth floor. However, after comprehensive consideration, we still rented it.

The landlord this time is very good. If you have any questions, just report them to him, he will listen to them patiently, and then ask us to find someone to deal with them, and then deduct them from the rent. Therefore, although there are problems such as broken air conditioners and lost keys in the middle. With the understanding and assistance of the landlord, the process went smoothly. I deeply understand that a good landlord is very important, it can save you a lot of trouble, because you know that he cares about the tenants, he also takes his house seriously , and will help solve any problems.

Tips for renting and moving

After several rental experiences, I have a few experiences that can provide reference.

  • Security : No matter what, security is still the most important, whether it is access control, management, security, escape, fire protection, surveillance or door locks. Be sure to carefully consider the level of your needs, and you 'd rather pay more for management than live insecurely.
  • Agency : If you have the opportunity, try to maintain a good relationship with the agency, which has many benefits . If you have a problem with your landlord, a good agent will help you communicate. In addition, if he has other good items in his hand, he will tell you as soon as possible. I just arrived in a new environment, and there are unfamiliar places, I think the agent is also willing to help.
  • Location : The closest you can get to a transit station, the better, whether it's a MRT or bus station. First, when you come to work, the pressure of rushing for time will not be so great, and secondly, when you come back from work, you don’t have to walk a long way to death , which makes you very tired. For me, a difference of 1 or 200 meters is obvious, so I can consider the rent gap and make a choice.
  • Moving company : It is best to ask the billing method first, whether it is calculated by manpower, time or distance. Manpower is the most important thing, and the move will be completed with a little more people. It is recommended not to let the company assign a person to save money. In addition, it is not recommended to ask someone you know for help, because he may simply help without receiving money. Sometimes you don't know whether to ask him to do more or less . In the end, you are tired and inefficient. If there are relatives and friends who want to help, it is better to hire a special mover.
  • Roommates : Many people have unpleasant rental experiences because of roommates. I agree too, because I feel the same way. I think three points are the most important - "hygienic habits", "living routine" and "paying rent on time" . If you can communicate these three points, in fact, most of the problems will be solved. Everyone respects each other, and when we live together, there will naturally be less friction. Of course, we should ask ourselves, and don't let ourselves become a problem roommate in the eyes of others.

After such frequent moves, I finally settled down after I shared a house with my friends and rented a house bought by their parents, and finally stopped moving every year. And because the owner of the house is his family, he is also half the landlord, so he can communicate with each other very well, and there is no big problem.

Finally, I would like to say that good landlords are hard to come by, not for renters. So I didn't put it in the suggestion point, if you meet a good landlord, you are lucky. Otherwise, you can try to communicate with the landlord so that the problem can be solved. Good roommates need fate, some people are suitable to be friends, but not suitable to be roommates!
