Insect Rearing and Observation Project - "Flat-belted Hornworm" was successfully raised!
A caterpillar with a tail was found in grandma's vegetable garden before!
And it crawls on the stinky chicken shit vine~ (smelly plant)
I keep guessing what it is? Dad said it should be a moth, but not sure what kind of moth it was.
As long as there is a long thing in the butt, it may be a hawkmoth larva~
In order to raise it, we often have to pluck grandma's chicken shit vines
I ate very little when I was a child, and the older I got, the more I would eat
One day, it peeled off and turned black!
I thought it was dead, why is it all black, woohoo...
As a result, Dad said loudly, "It's peeling!"
what! It turned out to be peeling and turning black, it scared me to death
After turning black, the little fluorescent light on the body is so obvious and beautiful (there was also when I was a child)
We have a total of three
When turning into a chrysalis, as long as you touch it, it will keep wagging its tail! Scared every time
One day, eyes appeared, indicating that the chrysalis was about to break!
Everyone is looking forward to what it will look like. After waiting for 1-2 weeks, it finally broke the chrysalis~~
It's really strange to see its long image, with a bird's tail under its body
There is also a pair of small wings, so cute~~
It is a "flat-belted long-beaked hawkmoth", so happy to raise different kinds of insects 🧡
We let it go back to nature, look forward to finding your babies next time, hee hee ^^
