Li Yu (August 15, 937 - August 15, 978), also known as Li Houzhu, was the third and last emperor of the Southern Tang Dynasty, a native of Nanjing. Li Yu's original name was Congjia, his word was Chongguang, and his names were Zhongshan Hermit, Zhong Fengxian, Bailian Lay, Lianfeng Lay and so on.

Li Yu is proficient in calligraphy, painting, and rhythm. After the fall of the Southern Tang Dynasty, he was captured by the Northern Song Dynasty, but he became the leading poet in Chinese history.

 Translation:
Spring flowers are blooming every year, and autumn months are bright every year. When will these times end, and how many sad things have happened in the past! Last night, the spring breeze blew from the small building again, and when I climbed the building to look at the moon, I couldn't help but think of my homeland.
The well-carved railings and the steps made of jade should still be there, but the people who are missed are old. Ask me how much sadness is in my heart, like a surging spring water, rolling eastward.

<<Yu Meiren>> is Li Yu's last work, telling the impermanence and contradiction of life.
