Perhaps many creators have also tried it. On the lonely road of creation, they always feel that the works they create are always bad in their eyes. After finishing the works, they don’t like them, and even think that others’ works are always better. Faced with this kind of thinking, many people will struggle hard, want to break away and turn back unknowingly, constantly wandering in this thinking mode. Creators seem to need high psychological qualities, but maybe they're just going the wrong way.

Creators seem to need high psychological quality, but maybe, you're just going the wrong way.

The original intention of creation and the result of pursuit

In fact, after 12 years of writing, Ben Xiong discovered that no matter whether he thinks his work is good or not, there will still be people outside who think it is "good" or "not good", so it is actually more important to create than to be good or not. The original intention and the result of the pursuit, in other words, are actually just a small test of human nature.

Some people create for the glory of their hearts , hoping to be appreciated and appreciated by others; some people create for profit , hoping to get money, rights, or just a small gift by creating something; some people create It is for satisfaction , creation is about wanting to do, wanting to finish, etc.

Glory heart

In the present of Web 2.0, the glory heart can be satisfied through "like" and "share" becoming "visible", which leads many people to judge their own works through these data, which leads to a strange situation: " The number of "likes" and "shares" has become a considered scoring mechanism, and the ability of one's own work to be liked and shared becomes a sign of approval, so that works that are not noticed are easily regarded as equivalent to nothing of value.

Later, this idea was intensified, that is, an algorithm, which ranks people's words and creations, and finally comes to a result that is suspected to be "reasonable and fair", and hides all the data controlled by the algorithm behind it... There is no more here. It is mentioned that there are still "buy like", "buy share" and social means in the world.

Obviously there is no fairness at all , but the "ignorance" or "indifference" of most people is used to create "fairness", which leads to a distorted mentality and phenomenon . Because of being identified as "positive", a person's successful experiences are easily sent to users of social media; because of being identified as "negative", a person's failures are also easily ignored and disappeared.

In a city full of people, how come my own words are not heard, and the words of others always appear in my ears?

However, that doesn't mean a work is really bad, or really bad. Even "Harry Potter" was submitted to dozens of publishing houses before it could be published; even the works of Nine Knives were first discovered and published by editors after a long period of time. The reality is that even if you think your work is bad, you might find a publisher willing to publish it, or win a competition, and vice versa.

No one knows all the face and process of an experience unless they experience it themselves, so comparing with others is just a false illusion.

So, what's the point of caring about the "vision" of others, especially those who are strangers, to create? They can't understand why you create like this, and they can't understand how much effort and time you spend on creating. This situation is like you never understand why some people you don't like take a long time to like and even confess, thus rejecting their hearts on Valentine's Day.

Likes are subjective, just like human nature, unless you create to get the attention of others. If you're one of the last people, go ahead and study what people like and keep up with trends .

Benefit

Ben Xiong believes that people who bow to society always seem accomplished and work relatively silently-whether it is someone who wants to achieve a small goal or someone who wants to work hard for something , their life experience may be more than "the existence that has already entered the society and become one of the screws in the operation of society".

Now, try to pick up a piece of white paper and draw a horizontal line representing the X-axis, at the beginning and end of the line, write "extremely clever" and "extremely innovative" respectively, and put what you want to see when you see these two. Those people associated with each word are marked on the paper with the code name "a black dot". When it's done, maybe you'll understand who gets the benefit, like someone who works hard every day, and the one who founded Bitcoin. Conversely, the closer to the average of the two, the lower the income will generally be—

Feel sorry.

The chart actually has a vertical Y-axis, and at the ends of the Y-axis, you can put "overconfidence" and "over-humility", which will make the chart more complete and find out why some people who fail are famous and supported. , some successful people will be taken for granted and continue to be buried, for example: those who were withdrawn in the United States with confidence and courage, and those geniuses who you think are worthy but always fail.

This chart can show you how those who are centered, those who are defined as normal are ignored for what, and how those who are not centered on the outside of the graph and placed on the ends of the X and Y axes are brought into visual focus , like you would go to see how they are on the edge of the paper.

The world seems to love Eason Chan's "Exaggerated": "It's not explosive enough, how can there be a topic, let me boast and become a big entertainer."

If you care about profit and fame, then Benxiong hopes the above chart can be an interesting little experience for you, because you will quickly understand where you are and where you want to be.

Satisfaction

Ben Xiong asks himself that he is a creator of this type, but at the same time, he still struggles because of the glory and interests that pop up from time to time. However, in fact, it is normal to constantly struggle with society, with oneself, with a sense of powerlessness and disgust in creation, but the society and the public are rarely willing to let someone or their own failure process be shown to everyone, unless the sharer Finally got a big turnaround and success .

So, how do you find your own satisfaction? Some creators will share their experiences, saying that they have been patiently creating for nearly ten or twenty years before they were finally discovered. These people generally consider themselves to be one of the failed experiences, because there are many people who have been in the publishing industry after creating for a few years, so they will encourage everyone to continue to create and complete their own works, and one day they will be able to finish. desired goals.

Is it really? Ben Bear disagrees.

In fact, they are a living example of "success", and at the same time, it is also a testament to turning "ordinary" examples into failures. These examples are trying to use their own experience to tell a person to hope for tomorrow, but ignoring some harsh facts, real problems and bad situations, to shape the future into a good and happy, and all you have to do is to try-

Heck. This is simply a comparison. Just think, if a person has been writing for more than ten years -- that's the length of time people mentioned in the example -- without success, does that person just have something behind them? Not working hard enough? Not lucky enough? Still not proactive enough? This "not enough" is a kind of "comparison".

Language art likes to take people into a circle of thought.

Are you reading these kinds of books to copy other people's ideas and ways of doing things, or to make your own style disappear. Sorry if it's too extreme.

Ben Xiong believes that the best creative idea is to ignore these examples, ignore what others call "success", look back on his creative path, and move on.

If you find yourself writing articles for more than ten years and still have little success, it doesn't matter, in fact, you are just on the ordinary creative path. You can choose to continue to move forward until you have the courage or the method to leave the plane with only X and Y axes, and go to the world of Z axis to make your world three-dimensional.

It is a rare experience to create with the idea of "no matter whether it's good or bad". After completing a work, let it go with a normal heart and start another creation, then your creative journey will seem to be less. A lot of troubles, such as caring about whether it is good or not, or whether you like it or not.
