hearsay
I found that I have been sucked up by information for a lot of time.
Information sucks me, not me sucking information. Take this morning as an example, I have already thought about what to write, and when I turn on the computer, the e-mail I checked last night before going to bed appeared on the screen. There is new mail. One link connects to the next, and 15 minutes have passed in a blink of an eye.
Then the phone popped up a notification again, oh breaking news seems very important, let me see it first...
The explosion of information caused the collective burn out of civilized society. The media with "credibility first" has long ceased to exist. Earlier, The Economist reported that the most trusted information channel for the younger generation is not any media, nor is it the content screened by social platforms, but the basic steps — friends , that is, "hearsay".
It's ironic when you think about it. In the past, communication was underdeveloped, education was generally low, and it was understandable to rely on acquaintances for information. Over the past two or three decades, communication technology has greatly improved, and the next generation has returned to the basics. It still feels that the "ancient" method is reliable. We can only blame the two generations of our development in the wrong direction of putting quantity and speed first.
The brain has a natural protection mechanism. When a large amount of information is poured in, it is often not selected based on quality. It takes too much effort. So what my friends say is the most simple, no worries, why go online and shop around, and have to think about the interests behind each person? Anyway, the reporter and I may not be able to tell the truth if they don’t know each other, and my friends will never hurt me.
It's hard to fight fake news technically, but it's even harder to fight human nature. There are many "10 ways to regain control of your information channel" on the Internet. It is good to start with certain settings and delete some applications, but in the end it depends on personal discipline. Don't go to Facebook IG if you have nothing, then It can train a person's willpower better than long-distance running.
No matter how good technology is, it still depends on how we use it. The best way to fight against hearsay is to join the ranks of "speaking", only by doing it yourself, caring more about the people around you, including elders, peers and juniors, writing more, reading more (only) sharing Well-founded information, don't get angry when you see fake information, and don't rush to speak logic. Just share the real information and wait for them to ask and absorb it.
