A person's curry rice is the taste of spring
2020 is definitely an unforgettable year.
Before the holiday, a message from the family came from the mobile phone: "Will the holiday come back? Mom has braised pig's feet."
At the moment of the epidemic, I haven't been home for a long time. Even if I use the communication software to exchange good morning with my family every now and then, I still can't restrain my homesick thoughts. I can only stay at the rental house by myself, and keep praying that the world will recover quickly. undisturbed. Life has to go on, it is necessary to fill the stomach, the time spent in the residence increases, and the three meals a day are taken care of more frequently. Curry is especially an indispensable dish.
When I'm alone, I eat Japanese curry rice. My favorite author, Yataro Matsuura, once wrote in the book that in order to maintain his craving for curry, he stipulated that he could only eat curry three times a year. Unlike me, I cooked curry three times in just one month. Even so, their love for curry is indistinguishable. The cooking process is very simple. First, wash the potatoes and carrots, peel off the skin and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Put them in boiling hot water and simmer slowly until the ingredients become soft. After the chicken, the finale is the curry brick, which must be stirred continuously with a spoon to prevent the sticky pan from burning.
After the cooked curry is cooled, put it into three glass crisper boxes, take it out and heat it up before eating, and serve it with white rice. A simple and delicious one-pot curry can accompany me for five days a week. Sometimes I even feel that the curry overnight is more delicious than the freshly cooked curry. The sauce is melted into the sweetness of the radish, and the potatoes become dense and elastic. I can't help it. One bite after another.
Put the curry on the favorite utensils, take a few photos and send them back to the family, as if to explain to them: I have taken good care of myself, you can rest assured.
Enjoying food is a way to treat yourself kindly, and it can also be turned into a warm response to those around you who care about you. Being able to live well is happiness.
So, one's curry rice has quietly become the flavor of this spring.
