In the bear market of falling prices, we can leave temporarily, change our life to a slow pace, settle our mood, dive deeper and farther, to study, think, and re-understand the world, before the next bull market opportunity comes, put on A sharper eye, and a calmer state of mind.

The Matters Lab Discord "🌌︱web3 World" channel is about to launch (probably) the longest and longest-running essay writing campaign ever (and it has only been launched for nearly four months):

Slow Pace. Bear Market. Study. Call for Papers

Period: July-September 2022 (three months in total)

Are you confused about the Web3 world? For example, why is there a bear market? Are Cryptocurrencies a Tulip Bubble Economy? Is money on exchanges less trustworthy than traditional banks? How to control the risk of derivative financial products in DeFi? How are DAOs similar to traditional corporations or democratic politics? What does the wallet public and private key mean? Why does everyone want you to "learn Web3 knowledge"?

This activity promotes reading/online courses/any study methods, trying to self-answer or even re-adjust the original questions in the process. The following 3 steps are required:

  1. Commitment: Before starting each study experience article, you must go to the Matters Lab Discord "🌌︱web3world" channel to put forward your own questions, or the field information you plan to study; at this stage, we suggest that the board members suspend the questions, but only relevant references.
  2. Study: Participants are welcome to come back to this channel and ask questions at any time if they encounter any doubts during the study.
  3. Publishing: The final completed article needs to be "first published" in Matt City, and then reposted and linked to the channel to be completed! Everyone is welcome to participate in the discussion; it only needs to be published during the call for papers; it can be published on other platforms or on your own blog at least a week after the first publication.

【Content of the call for papers】

  • A study essay of 1,000-1500 words or more is recommended (the actual number of words is not limited)
  • This article needs to be linked and tagged " Web3Matters "

【Eligibility】

  • The accumulated reading time must exceed 1 hour❗️Otherwise, it will not be counted.
  • There is no limit to the number of articles each person can participate in each month, but please do what you can 😉

【Entry Awards】

At the end of each month, the ranking is based on the "index hours" of the works published in the month:

  • 🥇 1st place: 40 USDT + 1 Travellogger
  • 🥈 2nd place: 30 USDT + 1 Travellogger
  • 🥉 3rd place: 25 USDT + 1 Travellogger

Definition of "Index Hours": Every hour of accumulated reading hours is counted only if there is more than one corresponding support. Example:

  • The accumulated reading time is 1.3 hours, and if it supports 1 time, the number of hours counted in the indicator is 1.3 hours.
  • The cumulative reading time is 2.3 hours, and if it supports 1 time, the number of hours included in the indicator is 1.3 hours.
  • The cumulative reading time is 2.3 hours, and if it supports 3 times, the number of hours counted in the indicator is 2.3 hours.

In short, do your best to write long, insightful essays on the findings of your studies that are worth reading.

【Participation rewards and detailed rules】

  • If an article is published and is subjectively determined by the event organizer (me) to meet the above criteria, I will support the article with 5 HKD as a reward for participation and assist in exposure; however, this condition does not affect eligibility.
  • If you are worried that the content of the article does not meet the standards, you can privately message me in the Matters Lab Discord in advance to provide a draft of the article, and I will try my best to provide suggestions.
  • Note: It is forbidden to support your own article with a avatar account. If the article is found, the article will be disqualified.
  • Please bind the wallet in Matt City first, and the prize will be awarded to this address (if the wallet has been hacked, it will be handled separately).
  • Seeking stability in the bear market, no other crypto options are provided, and encouragement to go to the exchange in the future to purchase the target (ex. Increase the trading volume of LikeCoin, raise the price of the currency⁉️).
  • Eligibility is unlimited (except the sponsor me), and Matters team members can also participate.
  • In case of vacancies, the awards will be accumulated to the next month.
  • This event method may be adjusted at any time as needed, and will be announced in the comments below.

Web3 novice can read introductory books in the field of blockchain first, while veterans are strongly recommended to read books in the field "outside the blockchain", such as: economics, investment, sociology, political science, computer science, science fiction, etc. Books or courses in the field.
