Ponyo

"Ponyo on the Cliff" is one of my favorite animated movies. When I feel irritable, I turn on the computer and click on netflix to play this movie, and I feel inexplicably healed, and then my emotions gradually calm down. This movie does not have any climaxing plot, nor does it have any ghostly love. It's a love that's straightforward, simple, and unwavering. The movie "Ponyo on the Cliff" may have many meanings behind human and nature, but for me, what I like is the simple and pure love of Ponyo.

Perhaps as we grow older, we are no longer the same as when we were young. We cry when we want candy, and squeak at our parents to buy them for us when we want gifts. When we grow up, we have to be responsible for everything we do. If we want to live a better life, we have to work hard by ourselves. Therefore, we also need to think and measure before doing anything.

Ponyo, the little girl in the movie "Ponyo on the Cliff", because she likes Sosuke, regardless of her merman status, she is determined to become a human and live on land. In this drama, Ponyo didn't weigh or worry about her liking Sosuke. She only knew that she liked Sosuke and wanted to live with him, so she worked hard to become a human to achieve her goal. She didn't think about the consequences of her becoming a human being, and she didn't care what others, including Sousuke, thought of her, she always "be herself". Her simple and outspoken character, and her careless expression of likes or dislikes, makes no secret of her simple love, which does not measure results, which is desirable.

How many people can actually do this? Many people's love is based on, "I love you, but...", often followed by some additional conditions. Of course, this is also because you have grown up, and you will inevitably measure or think before doing anything, including love. I think that's why "Ponyo on the Cliff" makes me feel healing, maybe it's the contrast that makes me yearn for it.

In addition, I also like Ponyo's candid character very much, perhaps because I feel that I have been very observant since I was a child, so I envy Ponyo's candid nature. When she doesn't like people, she sprays them with water, and when she likes them, she expresses them without hesitation. It may be because of this kind of recklessness that there is such a simple love. "Ponyo on the Cliff" is quite similar to "The Daughter of the Sea" to a certain extent, but I personally don't particularly like "The Daughter of the Sea", perhaps because the love of the Little Mermaid is more based on the level of praising greatness. A lot has been said in the story, and the consequences of your becoming a human being have a lot more to be measured.

It is necessary to consider the consequences before doing anything, but being reckless and simple is also worth yearning for. After all, to live a simple life requires many conditions. It seems to be difficult to live a completely simple and reckless life, but it may be feasible to retain part of the reckless simplicity.
