How good would it be if the Chinese community was not torn apart? |Feelings of participating in the "Melbourne Founding Father Sun Yat-sen Memorial" event
Today, I am fortunate to be invited by Teacher Xinshui to participate in the commemoration of the founding father. In a few days, it will be the birthday of Sun Yat-sen, the father of the nation, and it will be held on Sunday. Because everyone has official duties on weekdays, they can come on weekends. The address is at Lingxingmen Square in front of the China-Australia Museum in Melbourne's Chinatown. Participating in this event are mainly major Chinese communities in the Melbourne area. We came to this event as students.
The only bronze statue of the founding father in Australia
The bronze statue of the founding father in Melbourne's Chinatown is the only bronze statue of the founding father in Australia. It is said that it took ten years to get approval to stand in Melbourne.
I was fortunate to hear the story of erecting the bronze statue, and I felt a little turbulent in my heart. I also admired the good intentions of the older generation of Chinese in Australia. Remembering history is like introspecting the roots of our nation. Flowers without roots are easy to wither, trees without roots do not stand, and it is even more difficult to flourish. Without an understanding of history, we would take for granted what we are seeing, and our vision would be limited.
The statue of the father of the country stands in front, always reminding the Chinese that the revolution has not yet succeeded, and comrades still need to work hard. If I have time, I plan to interview Teacher Xin Shui and share the original intention and story of the bronze statue of the founding father.
Difficulties for the early Chinese
After seeing the introduction of Chinese history in Melbourne, I also understood how difficult it is for Chinese to build a democratic country. During the period of Sun Yat-sen's revolution and founding of the country, many funds came from overseas Chinese. The speeches of the seniors in the commemorative activities also gave special thanks to the overseas Chinese for their contributions in those years. Director Lin mentioned: "Without the support and generosity of overseas Chinese, there would be no birth and existence of today's democratic China." In those days, the situation of overseas Chinese was actually very difficult. They were far away from their homeland because of the corruption and oppression of the Qing Dynasty, and they left their hands in a foreign country. They must have such hopes in their hearts that the motherland can be democratic, free, prosperous, prosperous and strong.
The moment I said the words of thanks, I realized that the families of the many seniors sitting in front of me have lived in Australia for many times. But their love for the motherland remains unchanged. Even though their temples were gray and staggering, they still came to the bronze statue of the founding father to participate in this event.
inner feeling
What is the biggest feeling? It should be to understand that period of history and get to know the elders of many overseas Chinese groups here. We may distance ourselves from some Chinese overseas for political reasons. Because many of them are closer to ROC Taiwan. Therefore, this time, we were fortunate to meet many overseas Chinese groups, and we only understood their efforts and allowed some Chinese culture to be preserved here, such as the lion dance group, the dragon boat club and so on.
In the middle of the activity, we bowed to the bronze statue of the Father of the Nation and bowed three times.
The moment I leaned over, my heart was filled with a sense of steadfastness and humility. Being down-to-earth means that you feel that you need to do things down-to-earth, instead of being disturbed by some slogans, let alone disturbing your down-to-earth thoughts and actions. To be humble is to feel that you are still young (although you are near), you should be humble in everything you do, you should not be blindly arrogant, you should not be immoral, and you need to guard against arrogance and impatience.
If you say what is the best patriotic education, it must be so. They saw the sacrifices made in the past, which made the home more beautiful. The home maintainers thank every gardener for their contribution, as well as their support from distant deceased people. How can this virtuous circle not be cherished? Patriotic education should not make us hate and confront each other, but should make us more tolerant, love each other more, and protect our roots.
Looking at Hong Kong now, and seeing the obstruction of mainlanders to Taiwan, are we still a Greater China?
If only our tribe hadn't been torn apart...
The China-Australia Museum in Melbourne is recommended for every Chinese to visit and learn about it.
I have been there four times.
