[Mirror World・Mirror World: Contemporary Video Art of the Post-80s]

A few days ago, I learned that the "National Photography Cultural Center" started operation last year, and it is still located next to Taipei Main Station. I didn't even notice the relevant reports!!

In short, after learning about it, I couldn’t wait to go to the pilgrimage. I don't know if it was because the weather was too hot or because of insufficient publicity, there were very few people who visited. Even if it was a weekend, there were only 5 visitors in the booth including me.

The exhibition area is concentrated on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The theme of the exhibition on the 2nd floor is "Mirror World", and the third floor is "Mirror World". The exhibition period is different. Perhaps because it is a photography center, many works have been exhibited in other places, and most of them have been seen in the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Although I have seen it, I still feel a little different. After all, the sense of space is different and the way of placement is also different.

"Mirror image" originally means that in a two-dimensional plane space, an object is reflected in a plane mirror, and has a virtual image of the same size as the original object. The "Mirror World" series takes "World-Natural Landscapes" as its theme, showing how Taiwanese video art creators capture various natural landscapes and cultural images of the external world through their lenses.

"Image" refers to the image of objects that appear due to the reflection of light, emphasizing the existence of an objective reality independent of consciousness and a reality that human consciousness has the ability to respond to. The "Images of the World" exhibition area focuses on the two categories of "Self-Body Landscape" and "Society-Cultural Landscape". Through the fusion of various symbols, it shows how creators take care of themselves, others, and society through video creation.

On the 1st floor, there are photography library, future city cultural and creative store, and COFFEE TO coffee.
