Feelings about the Russian-Ukrainian war in Belgium
Let me share my feelings about the Russian-Ukrainian war in Belgium recently
Since the war started on 2/24, I have been watching BBC, CNN and local reports every day to track the situation of the war. As the war extended and became stalemate, many people were killed and many people were displaced. Refugees from Ukraine, there are also many people here who are willing to help them (humanitarian aid).
About 200,000 children have been evacuated to other safe areas, but thousands more in need remain unaccounted for

After watching this BBC report and the video in it, I feel really heartbroken. Thousands of children have been forced to leave their homes, forced to endure the fear of death and the pressure of adapting to a different place at an innocent and lovely age. Especially when I saw the pictures of the children affected by the shells, I felt very sad. I just hope that this war can be stopped as soon as possible, so that more innocent people will not suffer more.
Reporters go to the front line to report
Watch: Our correspondent goes into no-man's land with the Ukrainian army - BBC News
In the past few days, when my wife @Ruth Growth Diary was watching the news, I really admired the local reporters stationed in Ukraine. In the above report, the reporter went to the front line of the battlefield in Kerkov, and Ukrainian soldiers told him that the Russian army was 900 meters away from the place where the sound of artillery shelling was heard. He also followed the local police to patrol during the curfew time, and even photographed the bodies of many bloody soldiers on the front line. The scene was frightening.
There was a BBC report interviewing local reporters how they felt, and I remember one reporter saying "he's like a cog in a big war machine, although what I've recorded is not necessarily the full picture, not enough." To represent the whole thing, but I'm going to do my best to document what I can." That's the mood of journalists who are still reporting on the front despite risking their lives.
Principal's letter
Web page
For these students and staff in need, the school has set up a special website to provide information and help them as much as possible.
Student jobs
It also provides opportunities for Ukrainian and Russian students to have student jobs
Registration of students
Ukrainian universities with exchanges that can offer their students to register at the school
Available positions
For faculty members of Ukrainian universities, positions are also offered to them
Minimal registration
Provide accommodation as much as possible if necessary
Finally, the principal also hopes that everyone will not discriminate against or attack Russian students and staff, and they do not want war to happen. The school will do its best to help Ukrainian students and colleagues who need help in such a stressful and anxious situation.
Connect the collected materials and send them to Ukraine
Our department has also started to collect materials to send to Ukraine. At such a critical juncture, the mailing company counts us a 20% off discount. I think we will continue to collect materials one after another. I just hope that the war will end as soon as possible.
I just recovered from COVID this Monday and started going to the lab, but I'm still quite tired and can't work for too long. I went to see my doctor in the morning. The doctor told me that my blood pressure was relatively low. It seems that the side effects continued for a long time. I hope that I can go to Copenhagen for a seminar next week.
