Believe, there is no end

The following is shared by one of the lucky people:

A few days ago, I participated in the college reunion and met a classmate who lost his health due to a serious illness five years ago. This time I saw him again, looking very good, refreshed, and full of energy. He said that because of this illness, he realized the importance of health. In the past, he only had career in his mind, but after he fell ill, he suddenly woke up, lost his health, and everything went back to zero. So, he re-examined his life, learned to live slowly and enjoy the warmth of his family, and he thanked the disease for allowing him to be reborn.

A classmate's remarks reminded me of an article I recently read "Resilience in Adversity". Nine times out of ten, life is unsatisfactory. Everyone will encounter adversity. Since adversity is the normal state of life, why do people always think that it is not easy to stand up from adversity?

The reason why adversity makes people slump is that when people are in frustration, their most intuitive response is usually: "Why did it happen to me?" Feeling powerless and waiting for a hero or miracle to appear.

But, going through the same adversity, there are also many who have shown extraordinary resilience, even better and more successful. The article mentioned that the research results show that individual factors such as mental ability and stress resistance certainly have an impact, but the most important factor is the environment. The more "protective factors" (e.g. family harmony, good friends, etc.) in the environment, the more timely, and the more sustained, the stronger the resilience. An example in the text: poor children will not underestimate themselves in the face of adversity. Instead of constantly asking "Why is our family so poor?" Knowing the poor better, and I am lucky to be the latter.” His protective factor came from the constant love and support of his parents. When he gave the first payment to his parents, his parents said, "If you have extra mental energy, you should use it on people who suffer in life like us." And taught him: "People should always Give, don't take more." His parents taught him to go beyond poverty: "The definition of success is not how many people you have won, but how many people you have helped."

Although adversity is uncontrollable and unpredictable, as long as there is love and support in the environment, it can make people see adversity as an ordinary life topic, which is enough to give people the courage to move forward fearlessly even if they lose more.

A person in the Jingshe article shared: "Abo often teaches us: 'Training the mind through experience', through the frustration and experience of various things, we can see our own shortcomings, blind spots, and habits; Reciting Buddhist scriptures, practicing for a long time, reciting the wisdom of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in your mouth and engraving them in your heart, and subtly changing them. Slowly correct and remove.” (The source of the article: “ Gifts of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to Sentient Beings ”)

Adversity is the best training to change one's destiny. An old saying goes: "You can't get the fragrance of plum blossoms without going through a bit of coldness." To grow and thrive, one must bravely accept challenges and experiences. The world is wide and life is long, and no one can hide forever under the umbrella of their parents, family, or anyone else. Only by going out can you see the ever-changing features of the world; by going out, you can accumulate rich experience in life; by going out, you can understand the wonderful mysteries of life.

A person's life is a process of continuous learning. It is impossible for a person to be able to know everything from the moment he is born. Everyone needs to accumulate skilled experience and rich knowledge through continuous learning and practice. Slowly quenching the chain of mature and harmonious wisdom, in this way, can you complete every karma in every stage of life.

In this technologically advanced and rapidly changing society, human ethics and moral values are getting weaker and weaker. In doing everything, they always seek quick results, instead of being down-to-earth and taking into account the feelings of others. Whether this process will hurt others, endanger the lives of others, harm the interests of others, or plant hidden dangers in the future. There is a saying: "Whatever you sow, you will reap the fruit." When people do anything, they must bear the final result, especially the cause and effect. It is the so-called "good will be rewarded with good, evil will be rewarded with evil, it is not that there is no reward, the time has not come".

The safest insurance in life is practice. Cultivation is to study the wisdom in the Buddhist scriptures to correct one's ignorance and habits, to remove greed, hatred, delusion, slowness and doubt one by one, and to apply the wisdom of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in one's daily life, correcting deviant thoughts, correcting words and deeds, and going through events. Practicing the mind, quenching the chain of wisdom, and restoring the pure and bright self-nature.

"Abo's Words - Excerpts from the Live Discourse": "Humans have both Buddha nature and animal nature. Animal nature is higher than Buddha nature, and will go to destruction; Buddha nature is higher than animal nature, and peace can be achieved. Cultivation is to make Buddha nature surpass animal nature (inferior nature). ), when there is a lot of Buddha nature, good money tends to chase bad money, goodness and happiness, peace and prosperity; when there is a lot of animal nature, bad money tends to chase good money, evil and danger pay attention to profit, and the world is chaotic.”

"Humans possess both Buddha nature and animal nature. If the environment is turbulent, food and sex will make people lose their minds. If they are not practicing, the animal nature will be stronger than Buddha nature and create various causes and effects. Therefore, people must practice hard. , let the Buddha-nature be stronger than the animal-nature, and no longer do evil."

"People are like Tai Chi, before they practice, Buddha nature and animal nature coexist. There is white in black, and black in white. In the world, practitioners must purify the heart and nature, remove impurities, and make white far greater than black, and then Get back to your true self."

People fall into reincarnation and fall in the evil world of five turbidities. To find Buddha-nature, they can only be achieved through practice. Cultivation is not to meet Buddha, but to improve one's mind. Only when one's mind is improved, can one see one's mind clearly and reveal the Buddha's nature. Ordinary people are obsessed, indulged in all kinds of dust and labor and can't extricate themselves. In fact, these dust and labor are all a conjunction, the people you will meet, the wealth you will earn, the power you will gain, the status you will achieve, anything you have...etc. , either there is a cause and a cause or a cause and effect, the cause and effect are gathered, the cause and effect are separated, and the various causes and conditions in life come and go, birth and death, like a flash in the pan, there is no eternity.

An ancient poem says: "Heaven and earth are the inverse journeys of all things; time is the passer-by of a hundred generations." This means: heaven and earth are the inn where all things temporarily live; time is a constant passer-by across generations. Everything in the world is used by us, including our body. No one can keep something forever, and no one can never lose something. This is how life is, practice in the midst of constant gain and loss, and gradually return to the original through the tempering and testing of various situations.

Life never stops, like a river flowing; if a river stagnates, it is a stagnant pool. Go forward bravely in life. Every obstacle on the road of life is a turning point that changes your destiny. Life always contains unexpected gifts. From the high mountains, you can see the magnificent sea of clouds, and from the low valleys, you can see the galloping waterfalls. No matter where you are, as long as you uphold the right knowledge and right view, be firm in your heart, and work hard, life will reward you with beautiful and abundant good fruits. Believe, there is no despair; perseverance, you can see hope!
