Identifying and Diagnosing Stroke Symptoms

Story: At an old school reunion, a lady tripped and fell while picking up a barbecue. A friend next to her suggested seeking medical care, but she was pretty sure she was fine, she just tripped over a brick while wearing new shoes. . When she was still a little shaky and unsteady, her classmates helped her clean up and served a small plate of food for her, and she followed everyone to enjoy the rest of the time.

After the party, her husband later called to inform everyone that she was sent to the hospital due to discomfort after returning home. Unexpectedly, she passed away at 6 o'clock in the evening because she suffered a stroke during the barbecue dinner. At the time, if any of them knew how to recognize the signs of a stroke, she might still be with us now.

In fact, stroke is amenable and preventable, but many people do not understand it.

A neurosurgeon said that if he had access to a stroke patient within three hours, he could completely reverse the consequences of a stroke. The trick is to identify and diagnose the stroke problem and have the patient receive medical care within three hours, which is not difficult to do.

To identify stroke, let us remember the three steps of S, T, R, please read and learn!

Sometimes the signs of a stroke can be difficult to recognize, and sometimes not. Unfortunately, a lack of vigilance can spell disaster. People around you cannot recognize the signs of a stroke, and stroke sufferers can suffer severe brain damage.

The doctor said that in fact, others can identify whether they have a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S: (smile) Ask the patient to smile.

T: (talk) Ask the patient to say a simple sentence (organized and coherent), eg: The weather is sunny today.

R: (raise) Ask the patient to raise both hands.

Note: Another symptom of a stroke is asking the patient to stick out their tongue, if the tongue is bent or turned to one side, that is a sign of a stroke.

If the patient cannot perform any of the above four actions, call 120/911 immediately! And describe the symptoms to the operator.
