misty cloudy day

Life is pouring out on me

I was reading Anna Higgs' Transit recently, and the protagonist said he likes things that are timeless, like a fire, crackling and burning. He tossed between consulates for refugee status, but the fire made him feel that there is eternity in the war. Somewhere on earth there will always be a fire burning.

I can't sleep tonight, in my room in the middle of the night, my eternity is the occasional roar of traffic. The opposite of eternity is my daily routine.

I now find that there are probably only a few moments in life when it's about cleverness, and other times it's about willpower. For me, it takes willpower to get up in the morning. It takes willpower to look up school materials. It takes willpower to read textbooks patiently. It takes willpower to hold back tears. Even graduates at CMU need to submit 150 resumes to get a job, regardless of ingenuity.

Where are you going after passing these anomies? Go through it first.
