After watching the movie [HIS]: Reining in the precipice before resentment accumulates

I don't think the story itself is the point of the movie. The focus of the camera is not who is right or who is wrong, but the emotional bond between each person.

(This article contains spoilers, be careful)

If you just look at the story line, the plot of the movie can be flattened into a story of a heartless man: Hibino Nagisa (Fujiwara Season) left his former first love / gay love Igawa Shun (Miyazawa Ice Fish) to Australia to learn surfing, and later met Rena (Matsumoto Wakana), made her pregnant and married her, gave birth to a daughter Xiaokong (Sayura Sotomura), and carefully maintained the family and marriage, thinking that this would be recognized by the society, but it turned out to be no match for those who like the same sex. Tendency to cheat with other men frequently. During the divorce procedure and the lawsuit against Xiaokong for custody, Nagisa, who had been the house-husband for six years, took his daughter to Shirakawa-cho to seek refuge with Shun, who had been away for eight years.

Nagisa is obviously guilty of committing sins and can't live, but I don't think the story itself is the point of this movie. The focus of the camera is not who is right or who is wrong, but the emotional bond between each person: between Xun, Nagisa and Xiaokong, between them and the residents of Shirakawa, between Nagisa and Rena, parents and daughters In between, there is Miri (Honoka Matsumoto), an aborigines in Shirakawa Town who likes Swift and takes good care of Nagisa and Kosora, and the three of them. Even if Nagisa is objectively wrong, the sincere feelings shown on the screen really make the author hate him.

After being abandoned by Nagisa that year, Xun has been hiding his gay identity in the Tokyo workplace, but colleagues who are biased against gays still spread rumors about him. In order to live a peaceful life, Shun moved away from the crowd and moved to the simple Shirakawa-machi to live a life of barter. Xun was rationally resistant to Xun who suddenly appeared with Xiao Kong, but Nagisa's words "I miss you" aroused the love that Xun had buried in his heart for many years, and took in the father and daughter unconditionally. Seeing that Nagisa is meticulous to Xiaokong, Xun also loves Xiaokong very much, and establishes a deep relationship with her. Xun dared not say love, but everything he did showed love, which moved the author very much.

The interaction between Xiao Kong and his parents is also another important aspect of the play.

When Nagisa and Rena were together, Nagisa did housework and took care of the children, while Rena went out to earn money to support the family, which was a perfect division of labor. But when mutual trust disintegrates and Xiaokong's custody is brought to court, the division of labor based on the premise of love - Nagisa's joblessness (and her same-sex orientation), and Reina's lack of time to raise children - unfortunately become lawyers for both parties. Attack the opponent's chips.

Nagisa's daily life is to take care of Xiaokong. The two father and daughter were inseparable, even taking a bath together. At night, Nagisa and Xiaokong read books together (Xun and Rena also read books for Xiaokong, but their attitudes were very different), and coaxed her to sleep. Nagisa is undoubtedly the person who knows Xiaokong best and has the most patience with her.

Rena is a freelancer who is very busy with her work to support her family. Rena, who was separated from Nagisa and was caught up in official business and lawsuits, was naturally upset and couldn't find time to spend with Xiaokong, and beat her after Xiaokong lost her temper and broke her Mac (meat pain x_x), but it didn't matter . It means that Rena doesn't love Xiaokong as much as Nagisa. It was objective conditions that prevented her from caring for Xiaokong like Nagisa.

The helpless Rena used alcohol to relieve her worries. After she was drunk, Xiaokong ran to the police station and asked her father to take her home. However, Xiao Kong did this not because she hated her mother, she was more afraid that her mother would hate her. In Xiaokong's eyes, parents are equally important. Losing either party will hurt her.

Xiaokong also likes Xun, and hopes that he can accompany her with her parents (of course it is impossible). She really felt the love between Nagisa and Shun, so she took it for granted that the two of them kissed. When she was playing with other children at the public hall (a meeting place for residents of Shirakawa Town), she naturally said it. , and all the inhabitants heard it.

Hun, who was terrified and troubled by this, was fortunately enlightened by the old man Ogata when he was hunting. The old man told him: Although many residents gossip, but no one is hateful , everyone is friendly to outsiders, please don't care about other people's words, follow your own heart , after all, who you like is everyone's free. The old man died of a sudden illness soon (historical mission completed XD). When the residents gathered at his funeral, they quickly gathered up the courage to confess:

"...Ogata-sama, Misato, and other Shirakawa residents were kind to me, and made me realize that it 's not the world but myself that's indifferent. If I can be kind to others, the world may be kind to me. So I want to be honest. Tell everyone: I'm gay. I love Nagisa Hibino."

Sure enough, as the old man said, the response of the residents was full of goodwill, and some people even called Xun to live well.

Perhaps because of confirming Xun's love, Nagisa gained the courage to face the road ahead. When his lawyer questioned in court that Rena knew nothing about Xiaokong to prove that Nagisa was a more suitable parent, Nagisa stopped the lawyer and proposed an out-of-court settlement, voluntarily handing over the custody of Xiaokong to Rena , because he and Xiaokong spent these six years of irreplaceable precious time together, which Rena got from working outside.

When I saw Nagisa hung up the phone call to Xiaokong and burst into tears in Xun's arms, the author seemed to see a big hole in Nagisa's heart , and couldn't help but burst into tears - he was about to lose his daily companionship, the closest and dearest for six years. 's daughter. At a young age, it shouldn't be difficult for Xiaokong to adjust to living with other people (Rena's strict mother). Xiaokong may have a new father in the future, but Nagisa has only one daughter in his life.

Is Nagisa self-inflicted and can't live? At least, he knows how to rein in the precipice before the resentment between him and Rena is hard to return . In the future, Rena will occasionally bring Xiaokong out to meet Nagisa and Xun, and let them ride a bicycle with Xiaokong. When he was young, Nagisa didn't know how to cherish the love between Xun and Xun, so he recklessly abandoned Xun. Later, he realized that the reason why he kept cheating was not because of the male body, but because of the loss of Xun , so he made up his mind to stay in Shirakawa-cho and become a pipe organ. The master's apprentice, spend the rest of his life with Xun.

This is definitely not a complete Happy Ending, but it should be the Best Possible Ending.

Finally, when the author watched this movie, I always felt that the main character was Fujiwara Ji 😂 He seems to have more scenes and emotional scenes than Miyazawa Hingyu (?). Fujiwara Season's performance is very natural and just right , and the interaction with Sayakuro Somura is like the real father and daughter, I believe it can touch many audiences. I hope you don't miss this delicate and delicate work. ❤️
