Remote Work Teaching Warfare Code | Independent and Dependent Personalities

Due to the impact of the epidemic and technological evolution, remote work and WFH will increase.

We often see the following cases in the workplace (dialogue)

Director B; The impact of COVID-19 has been declining due to the increase in vaccination rates, and we have begun to loosen restrictions, hoping to return to normal life as soon as possible. I have found many benefits of working from home (WFH), including saving commute time, increasing time spent with family, and even making it easier to relax and take care of personal matters occasionally (laughs). It's just that some employees have not yet established a good communication model, or they are more slow and unable to keep up with the pace of the team. Don't know how to manage it?

Supervisor A; With the rapid evolution of Internet technology, remote work is the future trend, and employees may not be able to distinguish the boundaries between work and life. The mentality of "self-requirement" is very important. On the other hand, since team members are located in different places, it is easy to feel alienated. You can add online or offline team activities to increase members' experience of the "warmth" of the team. At the same time, the more clear the requirements and expectations for the work, the better, and regular review of the results can promote the efficient achievement of goals.

I believe most people have experienced "student syndrome": no matter how long the time limit is, always put off work, homework, and planned plans until the last minute before the deadline. For teams that need to coordinate remote workers, this problem is a priority to solve. First of all, it is necessary to understand each person's work habits, which can be roughly divided into two personality traits: independent and dependent;

Independent people, do everything in an orderly manner, are accustomed to making a good schedule, and like to carry out things as planned; do things in one go to avoid obstacles; usually handle items in different categories and arrange them systematically.

Dependent people tend to do things according to their interests, sometimes absent-minded; do not seek absolute clarity, believe that the boat will naturally go straight to the bridge, often "depending on the situation"; do not like to make plans, and are used to fighting for a minute after they are done; Conversations often change topics, either at random or depending on the situation.

Therefore, these two types of people are most often in conflict in life or work, because flexibility (creativity) and norms are often pulled in the team, although plans often fail to keep up with changes, for committed tasks, they still need to be rewarded in a timely manner to facilitate adjustment ; In the face of remote workers, it is even more necessary to respect individual characteristics, and gradually introduce appropriate group work modes.

Remember when we were kids we all had dreams and the experiences of following through on plans, such as saving pocket money to buy a favorite gift or travel. It's just that the dreams that grow up become bigger and take more time to complete. They are often attracted by short-term temptations and ultimately fail to achieve their goals.

A few years ago, the department set a healthy annual goal – climbing Yushan with all staff, imagine a group of heavy users of 3C products, physical strength will be the biggest obstacle. So we agreed to go to the company's gym two days a week to exercise. At the beginning, all the staff were there. With the back pain, "iron legs", ... after exercise, the number of people became less and less. In order to increase the perseverance of sports, I set up a reward mechanism of "gathering points": after gathering 5 sports, I will share a delicious snack with my wife. With the encouragement (restriction, 🤣) of spiritual partners, we can overcome the temptation of laziness, and we can easily complete the trip to Yushan.

In work, to turn the impossible into a possible goal, we need to use the method of dismantling to find out the tasks and deadlines that must be completed. Some of them are more difficult or take a long time, and a reward method can be set; just like arranging a travel itinerary, along the way Admire the beautiful scenery or taste the food, and you will reach your goal before you know it.
