What are the names of 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva?

Lord Shiva is also called "God of Gods". And according to Hindu religious texts, his devotion and penance have been done by his devotees from time to time. In this article we will know why Lord Shiva tested Arjuna .

The story dates back to the Mahabharata period. Therefore, to understand the answer to this question more transparently, we have to know the facts before the incident of this examination. So get to know him first.

What was the reason for the war of Mahabharata?

First of all we know that what was the reason for the war of Mahabharata? Because if there was no reason for the war of Mahabharata, then even Arjuna's test situation would not have arisen.

It is about a time when Pandavas and Kauravas were playing a game of gambling. Shakuni, the maternal uncle of Kauravas, had mastered this game. This was the reason that the Pandavas lost everything in this game of gambling. He even lost his wife Draupadi to the Kauravas in the game of gambling. And what happened then was written in the dark letters of history.

On this day Duryodhana crossed all the limits of his misdeeds and ripped off Draupadi. In the full gathering, everyone just kept watching and Shri Krishna saved the shame of Draupadi from the wicked. Shri Krishna condemned the gathering and exhorted everyone present there to follow the path of justice and righteousness.

Seeing this, Dhritarashtra, the father of Duryodhana, decided to return the money and kingdom lost by the Pandavas to the Pandavas. But Shakuni was very clever and provoked Duryodhana. Duryodhana also obeyed his uncle and asked for 12 years' exile for the Pandavas and asked for one year's unknown abode.

The unknown habitat meant that the Pandavas would live in exile for 12 years, but in the thirteenth year they would have to live in the unknown habitat. That is, if anyone recognized him during this unknown habitat, he would have to go to exile again.

Now the Pandavas had to go for exile. But the Pandavas wanted to get back their lost kingdom and prestige. They needed force. That is why Shri Krishna advises Lord Arjuna to do devotion and penance to Lord Shiva. Shri Krishna asks Arjuna to obtain the Pashupatastra after receiving a boon from Lord Shiva.

What is animal husbandry?

Pashupatastra is a unique and most destructive personal weapon of Lord Shiva, Maa Kali and Adi Para Shakti. This weapon can be released from the mind, eyes, words or bow. This weapon was never wasted when used against less enemies or less warriors. Pashupatastra was able to destroy the universe and conquer all beings.

Pashupatastra is the most destructive, powerful and irresistible weapon mentioned in Hindu mythology. Only Arjuna in Mahabharata, Shri Ram in Ramayana and Rishi Vishwamitra received this weapon. It is one of the six mantramukt weapons which cannot be resisted.

The story of Arjuna receiving the Pashupatastra and the test of

After consulting Shri Krishna, Arjuna left his brothers and went to the forests to do penance. Arjuna did a very harsh penance of Lord Shiva. Now it was Arjuna's turn to be tested because Arjuna was very proud of being his best archer.

Now the fifth year of exile of the Pandavas was going on. In this, Duryodhana came to know about Arjuna's penance to Lord Shiva. Knowing this, Duryodhana sent Mookasura to break Arjuna's penance and kill him. Mookasura took the form of a wild boar and attacked Arjuna.

Arjuna shot an arrow at Mookasura with his bow. In the same way, Lord Shiva appeared there in the form of a Bhil and he also shot an arrow at the wild boar. Both of them shot arrows together and on seeing the wild boar fainted there.

War between Lord Shiva and Arjuna

Now there was an argument between Bhil and Arjun as to who had killed this boar. Soon this argument turned into a fierce battle. Arjuna rained arrows on Bhil who was fighting in the form of Lord Shiva and broke the bow of Lord Shiva as Lord Shiva in the form of Bhil had a simple bow. At that time he did not have his pinaka .

After that both of them fought with arms. The battle became so fierce that Arjuna got tired of fighting but could not defeat Bhil. In the end Arjuna came to know that this is Lord Shiva in Bhil form. Arjuna accepted his defeat and bowed to Bhil. At the same time Lord Shiva appeared and presented the Pashupatastra as a boon to Arjuna.
