Sri Shiv Panchakshar Stotra (Shiv Panchakshar Stotra) is a powerful stotra. Hymns are a kind of popular devotional literature and are not bound by strict rules like some other ancient Indian scriptures such as the Vedas. In Sanskrit literature, a poem written in praise of God is called a stotra.

What is Shiv Panchakshar Stotra (What is Shiv Panchakshar Stotra?)

Panchakshara literally means “five letters” and refers to the five sacred letters N , M , Shi , V and Y. It is a prayer of Lord Shiva, and is associated with Shiva's mantra Om Namah Shivaya, of which Namah Shivaya is also called the Panchakshari Mantra.

Shiva is absorbed in meditation, as usually represented in Hinduism. Lord Shiva is the main deity in the Shaivism of Hinduism. The sacred word Japa to worship Him is made up of five letters and is called Panchakshara- N, M, Shi, V and Y.

According to Hindu traditions, the human body is believed to be made up of five elements and these holy letters represent these elements. N anoints the earth element, m does the same with the water element, shi activates the fire element, v activates the air element and finally y activates the sky element (sky / space element). .

In this popular Shiv Panchakshar Stotra (Shiva Panchakshar Stotra), each of these sacred letters is supposed to represent Shiva and the Lord is praised for His great qualities.

Who created Shiv Panchakshar Stotra (Who created Shiv Panchakshar Stotra?)

An Indian philosopher , Sri Adi Shankaracharya, is the author of this stotra. At the age of 8, he was the master of the four Vedas, at the age of 12 he passed all the scriptures, at the age of 16 he passed the Shankarabhashya and at the age of 32 he gave up the body.

Shiv Panchakshar Stotra (Shiv Panchakshar Stotra)

The five verses of this stotra have n, m, shi, v and ya respectively, i.e. Namah Shivaya. This entire stotra is Shiva-swaroop.

O serpent-necklace, three-eyed, ash-coloured, great Lord.
Never-failing, pure, divine, that “no”-caring, I offer my obeisances to you.

O Lord! You are going to wear the serpent king as a necklace. O (three-eyed) Trilochan, you are adorned with ashes, eternal (eternal and infinite) and pure. O Digambara Shiva, who wears amber like a garment, I salute your form known by the letter 'N'

Mandakini Salil Chandan Charchitaya Nandishwar Pramathanath Maheshwaraya.
Mandara flower, multi-flowered, well-worshipped, that “m”-shaped, I offer my obeisances to you.

Adorned with sandalwood, and adorned by the stream of Ganga, Lord of Nandi and Pramathanath, Lord Maheshwar, You are always worshiped with flowers from Mandara and often other sources. O Shiva, I salute Your form known by the letter 'M'

O Shiva, O Gauri, lotus-faced, O Sun, O destroyer of the sacrifices of Daksha.
O Sri blue-necked bull-flagged one with the syllable “Shi” I offer my obeisances to you.

O Dharma Dhwajadhar, Neelkanth, Mahaprabhu known by the letter Shi, you destroyed the arrogant sacrifice of Daksha. O Shiva, who bestows sun-like radiance on the lotus of Maa Gauri's face, I salute Your form known by the letter 'Shi'

Vasishta Kumbhodbhava Gautamarya Munindra Devarchita Shekharaya.
O Shiva whose eyes are like the moon, the sun and the fire, whose “v” is the syllable, I offer my obeisances to you.

Lord of the gods and worshiped by the gods and sages like Vasishta , Agastya, Gautama! Sun, Moon and Fire are your three eyes equal. O Shiva!! Your form known by the letter 'V' is saluted.

O eternal one in the form of a yaksha, with matted hair and in the hand of a pinaka.
O divine god, divinely dressed, to that “y”-card, I offer my obeisances.

O Yaksha form, Shiva with matted hair, you are eternal without beginning, middle and end. O divine Chidakash-like amber-bearing Shiva!! Hello to your form known by the letter 'Y'

He who recites this holy five-syllable mantra in the presence of Lord Shiva.
He attains the world of Siva and rejoices with Siva.

Whoever recites this five-letter mantra of Lord Shiva daily in front of Him attains the holy world of Shiva and lives happily with Shiva.
