We live in a complex, ever-changing and problematic era. As individuals, we are faced with various sudden and systematic dilemmas in our growth and survival. School bullying, sexual harassment, sexism, workplace discrimination, 996 sudden death, forced marriage by parents, receding hairline, constellation discrimination, belly discrimination, information cocoon room and post-truth, privacy leak, new coronavirus, water pollution, air pollution and the world warming……

From individuals to groups, from micro to macro, how do we face these problems? How to make sound? How to connect more people and drive change?

The Hungry Artist Project, is an art project. We built a prison-style iron cage. On the one hand, we recruited 11 people to live in the cage, where they would self-imprison themselves, turn off their mobile phones for 24 hours, and go on a hunger strike for 2,777 yuan. On the other hand, these 11 people will protest the plight of the other 11 people, the more specific the content of the protest, the better.

We will be recruiting part-timers who volunteer to starve for 24 hours, we call them Hungry Artists. They will go on a hunger strike for 24 hours in a cage to protest whatever you want to protest on your behalf.

24 hours in a cage. Don't eat any food for 24 hours (hunger hunger strike/can drink water). 24 hours without saying a word. No cell phone, no TV, no computer, no books and magazines. There are beds and toilets, prison-style treatment.

Volunteer participants are recruited across the country, we call them Hungry Artists. We will be live 24 hours a day.

(Other experiences are given as a gift: experience hunger, stay away from mobile phones and computers for 24 hours, face yourself, keep silent, face loneliness)

★Number of people: 11 people are recruited nationwide (for non-local participants, we will arrange accommodation and reimburse train tickets to and from Fuyang).
