Truth Adventure Award Winners Announced

News is the first draft of history.

But historical manuscripts are often censored, altered, and deleted by those in power.

In the spring of 2020, the new crown epidemic struck, and countless lives were lost. In the narrative of the power machine, individual grief, trauma and real struggle are erased, leaving only the triumph and brilliance of the victory in the fight against the epidemic.

Today, when truth is scarce, daring to speak the truth means confronting the sublime and grand, and leaving history with testimonies that belong to human beings.

Fortunately, no matter how bleak the reality is, there is still a large amount of news coverage that allows us to remember individual testimony and testimony, so that memory is no longer reserved for the manipulators of power and violence.

That's why we're launching a "Truth Adventure Award" to honor these journalists. At an indescribably critical moment, they risked their lives and political risks to go to the epidemic area to report. At a time of turmoil, they kept the truth from being easily annihilated, and issued sharp criticisms in the chorus of hymns. Their actions and reports convince us that actions can still be effective, that truth still has power, and that truth may be preserved for the future.

This is a privately initiated award. We invited nine journalists and nominated 57 journalists. These 57 candidates include traditional media reporters, self-media reporters, and citizen reporters. They all abide by their duties as reporters and report the truth.

The winner of the "Truth Adventure Award" is Gong Jingqi , her representative work is "The Whistle Man", and the prize money was raised by 73 people, with a total of 21,220.26 yuan.

We are grateful to Gong Jingqi, and to all the journalists who told the truth and faced the historical manuscript with truth.
