LikeCoin chain NFT Mod Upgrade – StarFerry Overview

The long-awaited NFT mod will officially set sail after the StarFerry upgrade. The content of this upgrade includes support for NFT modules and related services such as chain APIs such as NFT minting, blind boxes and NFT markets.

StarFerry is to many an iconic symbol of Hong Kong culture and history. For 120 years, ferries have shuttled through the harbour as usual every day, while witnessing the vicissitudes of the city. StarFerry has carved a lot of "non-fungible" memories for many citizens. We hope that in the name of the ancient guardian of our city - StarFerry, this software upgrade code will equip the NFT function to the LikeCoin chain, so that users can truly own, forever record and preserve the human history of ancient and modern times.

What does the StarFerry upgrade include?

• x/nft and x/likenft modules. This module uses the x/nft function of the Cosmos SDK and extends the x/iscn function of the LikeCoin chain, allowing users to generate NFT Classes and mint NFTs based on ISCN records or wallet addresses.
• Minting NFT based on ISCN .
• The chain API of the NFT market. This module provides blind boxes and basic market trading functions, allowing users to trade NFTs with LikeCoin.
• Upgrade cosmos-sdk to 0.45.6
• Upgrade ibc-go to 2.3.0

Get ready for an upgrade

It is recommended that all nodes have at least 32GB of memory plus an extra swap space for buffering. It can be a combination of 16GB RAM and 16GB+ swap , or it can be all 32GB of physical memory plus swap. Insufficient memory can cause data corruption during the upgrade process.

It is recommended that node operators use Cosmovisor. Please refer to the following guide for setup and upgrade procedures.

All nodes require 64GB of memory and must contain at least 32GB of RAM, with the remaining 32GB available for swap space. For best results, use 64GB of physical memory.

Upgrade time details

The target block for the upgrade proposal is 4,810,000 and is expected to be around Thursday, July 21, 11:00am UTC / 7:00pm GMT+8 . Note that as block times vary widely, monitor times closely.

The upgrade is expected to take approximately 60 minutes, and there will be no on-chain activity on the network during the upgrade.
