Some Thought - A New Form of Teaching GNU/Linux
TL;DR : Recently, I am planning to make a manual related to GNU/Linux applications (desktop application or service installation, or something else?), and ideally want to use a new method to write it. Welcome to give us suggestions and thoughts.
Ah, that’s right, I wanted to pick up the shovel of a big hole we dug before , although I mentioned it so many times, I still have no clue... 😔
So how did this idea (again) come to mind?
I forgot... I vaguely remember one day that the GNU/Linux tutorials in Chinese were almost all the ones where the default user would only use GNU/Linux to set up services. And where did I hear the magical operation of vi /etc/sudoers a few days ago...
For those who don't know the magic of this operation: /etc/sudoers is the configuration file for sudo (for non-root users to run commands as another user, usually as root), to prevent improper modification from causing the entire Sudo hangs up, obviously there is a visudo command for editing...
I want to have a meal.png
Stone from another mountain?
In fact, I have seen a few of them, and some of them feel that some parts are not bad...
- For example, Brother Bird’s Linux private kitchen , using CentOS as a teaching model, although I think it’s very hard to write but...
(Isn’t using CentOS just for server setup?) - There is also the story of the stupid rabbit on the Ubuntu Chinese forum (why the author is called "Lazy Snail Gentoo", thinking), except that it will inevitably become obsolete due to the inevitable time, it is as attractive as a serial novel ( ?)
- The distribution's own documentation may also be a good reference, especially the ArchWiki and Gentoo Wiki , although you can only write with your own distribution in mind...
- Finally (?), I read a short story a few days ago (スキル☆Linux ~异世界転生で学ぶLinuxコマンド~ , https://lightnovel.us/thread-1021573-1-1.htmlSomeone translated it into Chinese) . Although it is very short and very April Fool's Day (note the date of publication of the original text), it is unexpectedly interesting (the author is probably a fellow? 😂)
So what are we thinking?
have no idea.
To put it simply, we have plans to complete a manual related to GNU/Linux desktop applications, so what are the specific aspects?
- Understand some concepts related to GNU/Linux, such as the basic concepts of disk and partition, GNU/Linux startup process and so on.
- Do-it-yourself GNU/Linux distributions
- Use GNU/Linux to complete some operations (desktop application and service construction are covered)
and there are two desirable ideas(?)
ideal of freedom
As an impure free software lover, we ideally want to do this:
- Using a completely free GNU/Linux distribution as a template, although it was replaced at one point in the middle...
- And as much as possible to use only free software for teaching (?), although some places are definitely not possible...
- And wanted to remind everyone to be a little bit more privacy and security conscious (hopefully...)
magical ideal
And there are ideas that are not limited to the form of instructional manuals.
- As mentioned before, we think it’s great to learn Shell commands in the novel, although it may be necessary to create a bunch of settings at the beginning...
- It might be good to make it into a visual novel (think about it first...)
so what?
I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions...
(The first two articles are not as much appreciated as the ones who complained before, and I am autistic...)
Like my work?
Don't forget to support or like, so I know you are with me..
