"Butterfly Radish White" Preface: Pseudo-Private Fiction

(edited)
must lie

The writer finds a vocal image or gesture, empowers them to live, and ensures that they are free to speak in the realm where the text unfolds, that is, in fictional form.

Quick ● Ask ● Quick ● Answer

Is this novel finished?

not yet. Here are the original settings :

● What is the content topic?

Me told me about memories of "craving" and "guilt". The two lines are:

 (1) Desire for love, loneliness, impulsiveness, pleasing for friendship, incompatibility, family imagination → Chapters 1 and 2 (2) Guilt, inability to love, accidental injury, self-blame, selfishness, blame → Chapters 3 and 4

● Isn't Me just you? So it's a private novel?

Me is my twin brother who passed away early, and I recite Me's story in my memories. →<Me>

"Fictional narrative based on real experience", staring at "the psychological state of the self," if private fiction is so defined, it is a private novel.

● So this is a novel that talks to self?

I agree.

But almost all I listened to Me quietly, I only interrupted occasionally. The one I talked to him the most was in <Me>, I want to remind him, don’t check the memory, don’t care about the facts, just tell me what you think, and don’t worry about my eyes (I won’t let you roll my eyes). You see).

● The title of the book is a bit weird?

Because "Butterfly and White Radish" is the origin of the novel, it is about Me's memory of his father, and conveyed through a fictional "white butterfly" carved from a white radish, it is more about his father's thoughts. It's the kind that you'll understand later. (Which? You may wish to read it)

It is a solitaire of memories taken out of context, a daydream, or a dictionary of prophets like keywords.

● What does the above sentence mean?

I have participated in a group ice-breaking game, which is actually a memory solitaire. Everyone forms a circle, and each person takes turns to say a word. There are no rules and free associations. After repeating all the words, you can say the words you want to say. As more people said it, the words accumulated longer, and in the end the person who could not fully repeat them lost. (Why this can break the ice, just try it, it's funny)

These short stories were written in one or two months, as if one after another, like a solitaire of memories blurted out, so the naming of each story is a combination of two words. Words that seem unrelated are connected in the story, moving forward like dominoes. The virtual and the real alternate, confounding the real and the imagined, and sometimes it is like a vision seen during the day, even from a distant place, sending me a message that I have not yet seen through.

Passing the day is just a string of memory dominoes. When the dominoes were about to run out, it ran backwards, who knew where it would collide?

Different from the previous reminiscences about craving or guilt, which seem to be sentimental life experiences, "The Electric Shock of Post-Youth" is the last one, and it is also a turning point. Those who survived, those positively survived memories, this section has the opportunity to develop another topic.
