I am the girl Hu Hongfei who gave a speech at the entrance of the Fifth Canteen of Nanjing University on 10.16

My name is Hu Hongfei. I was speaking at the entrance of the Fifth Canteen of Nanjing University on the evening of 10.16. Many people are asking on the Internet, what is it that makes you so excited and so uncontrollable? Today, I'm going to tell you why I walked up the steps of the NTU canteen.

Why did I protest publicly last night? Because I feel angry and sad!

The anger was Meng Zhenhua, the deputy secretary of the party committee in charge of the association work of the Philosophy Department, who used trivial tricks to make things difficult for the students, silenced all the members of the huge Philosophy Department, and no one dared to be the instructor of the Jockey Club, playing football and pretending to be an "ostrich". They excused themselves in every possible way, and even worried that the Zhu Shunqing Alumni Association would "appeal" to Zhang Yibin, the secretary of the school's party committee, to "complain" and arrange for his roommate to watch him and restrict his personal freedom! Such a bureaucracy can run rampant and do whatever they want on the campus of NTU!

Sadly, this kind of bureaucrat in the management of NTU is not an exception, and this phenomenon will not surprise us in the slightest - the cancellation of the sex association two years ago, the joint letter incident on the establishment of a mechanism to prevent sexual harassment this year. , The incident of the suspension of the proposal work of the student representative meeting last semester, all of which are reflected in the school leaders' high-ranking, disengaged from students, and trampling on public opinion!

Why did I protest publicly last night?

Because the bureaucrats of NTU suppressed the students' voices, there was a long history of unruly behavior!

I was one of the sponsors of a joint letter at NTU this year proposing the establishment of a mechanism to prevent sexual harassment. Originally, when I sent a joint letter that had collected nearly 200 signatures to the principal's mailbox, I was full of hope. But soon, time told me that I could not get any news just by waiting. I was determined to ask clearly, but I went back and forth between the principal's office, the party committee's office, the human resources department, and the teacher's work department, with nowhere to ask. But when the Shenyang incident had already become a thing of the past, I got a perfunctory reply from the head of the teacher's work department, "I want to talk about evidence" and "under investigation." There is only one news story about a college girl who was sexually harassed, but complained about nowhere. Once again, no one cares about it and is forgotten again. In the case of unequal power relations, how difficult it is for the rights and interests of our students to be protected!

Why did I protest publicly last night?

Because I think of ordinary laborers who are oppressed like honest classmates!

My uncle is a factory worker, who has devoted most of his life and energy to the factory, and should have been respected and treated favorably by the factory. But when the factory was about to close down, he had already fallen ill because of his long-term factory work, but he couldn't get a penny of the compensation he deserved! At that time, he was no longer a living person, but a labor tool that was summoned by the factory owner!

For professional reasons, I have visited the shanty towns in Nanjing. The "nail households" there, because of protesting the low compensation and poor resettlement conditions, have to endure irregular strong light exposure in the middle of the night, stones smashing the windows, and water and power cuts that may occur at any time. People stealing household necessities such as pots and pans at home may even encounter arson near the house!

This summer, a group of pneumoconiosis drillers traveled thousands of miles from their hometown of Hunan to Shenzhen. In their youth, they buried all their heart and blood and sweat into Shenzhen City, which was rising in the process of reform and opening up, and built hundreds of buildings for Shenzhen City. But after prospering the city of others, he was ruthlessly abandoned by the city. Their hometown has become increasingly desolate and desolate due to the continuous exodus of the strong laborers, and their flesh and blood have become withered due to the erosion of occupational diseases. However, when these prosperous founders visited the prosperous city they created again, they were constantly dispersed, beaten, and repatriated! What are they guilty of? Why are they being treated so arrogantly when they drag the sick body to defend their rightful rights!

I have had a chat with them, I have run for them, and I have written many articles calling on people in the society to pay attention to them, but the response was very small.

Why did I protest publicly last night? Because I don't want to be an "exquisite egoist"!

I am a child of a middle-class family. Because my parents co-founded a factory, my family was well-off. It can be said that for the first 18 years of college, I lived in a pampered environment.

However, when I witnessed the female workers in my father's factory, who had no choice but to stay in the factory to work for the Spring Festival because they couldn't afford a ticket to go home, the luscious hotel New Year's Eve dinner on New Year's Eve added to the bitterness, I wish I could Take her to your home!

When I met a young girl who left her hometown to work in a factory alone after graduating from high school in order to support her family of six, I could only watch her go away, aside from giving away all my money!

When I learned that Aunt Wei’s husband died of cancer while working in the Fourth Canteen, but the canteen didn’t ask about it, I couldn’t sit still anymore, I could only stand with my aunt, and asked the canteen for an explanation and compensation!

Now, I think you understand why I went to protest publicly, and understand that we can only scare all oppressors by standing up bravely.

The injustice and inequality that can be seen everywhere in this society, the fact that the disadvantaged groups are oppressed but often have nowhere to turn to, has made me unable to bear to look at them. Those ugly guys do not solve problems, but they are always solving problems. I can no longer close my eyes and listen to self anesthesia, and I don't want to walk in the dark. I may have felt overwhelmed, but the clearer thoughts in my heart told me that I must stand up, and I must work hard to drive away the darkness with my own actions, so that there will be a turning point in reality!

Now, in the face of the NTU Malaysia Association, which has been severely suppressed by the Philosophy Department of NTU, it is my duty to show solidarity with these brave classmates. I will use actions to express my dissatisfaction and protest against school bureaucracy and unjust facts. Must do.

Here, I call on all the students who read this confession to submit to me, tell me about your experience of oppression on college campuses and the bureaucracy you have witnessed. Let us turn oppression into strength and make a statement of resistance!

Finally, share a friend's circle of friends: "To be in different places, to illuminate each other!"
