Physical Record Collection (Taiwan)

Today, let's talk about some Taiwanese musicians' physical records in my collection. It mainly involves 4 music labels, namely:

Witch Records WV Sorcerer Productions

Lonely God

Senko Issha Records

Utech Records

Let's start to introduce the records one by one. Personally, I mainly collect cassettes and CDs.

1. Breaking Hell / Scattered Purgatory " Mountain Dangerous / Sua-Hiam-Zun ", Utech Records

Duo, founded in 2013, has now been disbanded. The members are Lu Jia-Chi (Lu Jiaqi) and Lu Li-Yang (Lu Liyang), and there is an informal member Luo Hao-Buo (Luo Haobo). The band's name is taken from a basic ritual in Taoism, and the musical styles span a wide range, from industrial, metal, experimental electronics to ambient, noise, and kimchi rock.

In addition, I also recommend everyone to listen to " Manshen God of Silver Grass " released by Witch Records and "Lonely God Lost Ethnography of the Miscanthus Ocean " released by Lonely God.

2. Lu Jia-Chi (Lu Jiaqi) " Circle ", Wu Records

"Circle is my collection from 2015 to early 2016. The tracks included are all made with vocals, synthesizers and tape effects. Developed with drone as the base, each side seems to be unrelated, but in fact it is more than a year. The improvisational attempts related to mood also show a view of minimalism. *Included Drums (Side C), which released a handmade cassette in late 2015." - Lu Jiaqi

In addition, I would like to recommend the duo "LU&DU" of Lu Jia-Chi (Lu Jiaqi) and Jon Du (Du Zewei). Lonely God has released " LD01 ".

3. Forests " Idol Collapse ", Lonely God

The new work has transformed into a deeper darkness, and blurred the boundaries between the post-Pang industry and synthetic electronics, and embodied the subconscious sounds and noises, bringing the most unpredictable music experience this year (2018). ——Taiwan Bedo Bear Records Library

Here I can say without hesitation that the Forest Choir is my favorite Taiwanese experimental group. Founded in 2011, the members are Jon Du (Du Zewei), Zeng Guohong and Luo Zunlong. I just mentioned Jon Du briefly just now, but if you have heard of "Boyz & Girl", you must know him, and Guohong and Zunlong need not mention more, they should have heard of "Sunset Speeder".

The Forest Choir is different from their previous bands, especially on the album "Idol Collapse", some cult, some dark, with a rough industrial feel, they made very fierce music.

4. Dope Purple " Grateful End ", Witch Records

"Grateful End's five songs artfully connect and narrate a hymn dedicated to the world's disintegration and destruction to new life."

"The secret words hidden in the album name to the band name itself are all distant calls to those sounds that belong to the memory of the last century, and while listening to this album with the thought of searching for the traces of those ancient sounds , the listeners were disturbed by countless daring radio waves, and immersed in the psychedelic stardust in the depths of the universe with the improvisation of Dope Purple.”

- AymParch

Taiwan psychedelic noise group, founded in 2016 by guitarist and vocalist Liu Jianbai. At the time of this album, the band had five members, the other four were Wang Hu Ray (Wang Hurui), Speed Justin Tao (Tao Cunxiao), YunHao (Zhang Yunhao) and Hung Jiun Chi (Hong Junqi), and in 2017 Mong Another member of Tong (Mengdong), Hom Yu (Hong Yu), also worked as a synthesizer in the band. Also recommend the " Live " released by Senko Issha.

In addition, Liu Jianbai also has a personal music project "Evils".

Both cassettes and CDs are released by Witch Records, which also released a vinyl version in collaboration with Riot Season Records in the UK last year.

5. Dope Purple, Kitayama Q Male " Psychedelic Scum Freaks ", Senko Issha Records

The fifth one is still Dope Purple, this time it is a recording of their collaboration with Beishan Q Nan, Bei Shan Q Nan is playing with noise.

I also recommend Senko Issha's "Senko Flashback" released last year, which also includes "The Forgotten Children" by Dope Purple.

6. Li Nashao " L'intuition d'un devenir ", Senko Issha Records

The lead singer and guitarist of the Taiwan psychedelic rock group LFI (Les forts invisibles), this is his guitar solo. The other two members of LFI, Huang Dawang and Pan Zhenyu, are actually quite famous. The former is actually "Black Wolf Nakashi", and the latter is also the drummer of "Goodbye Naiyang".

7. Dino " Senko Issha Live ", Senko Issha Records

The late pioneering music artist.

8. Berserk " Fromless ", Witch Records

Berserk is a personal project of Chia-Chun Xu started in 2015.

Born in 1997, he began to perform and create Harsh Noise under the name of Berserk in 2015. Initially, he focused on a large number of Feedbacks and synthesizers generated by self-made instruments, and then began to focus on the no-input method of effects, using a large number of effects to cascade// Misuse, and then produce a series of variable and uncontrollable feedback internally, and through a lot of broken sound distortion, amplify its sound. Influenced by Japanese noise, Death Metal, Hardcore Punk and other music, with high energy, loud volume and extreme Known for physically intense live performances. In 2017, he began to use no-input pedals/mixer, shortwave radio and other media under his real name to collaborate with freelancers or folk talkers, if Harsh Noise performed under the name of Berserk is his "external" creation The creation under his real name is his "introverted" expression. Although he also manipulates electronic noise, he pays more attention to the sound and the space, the dialogue relationship between other musicians and the audience, as well as the details and the sound of the sound itself. Hierarchy. In addition to being the creator, he is also the director of the emerging experimental music label MKUltra Productions. He releases noise and experimental music from Taiwan and around the world from time to time, hoping to do his best to connect the scenes in Taiwan with the world. promotion. - Witch Records

In addition, I have not bought the physical records of some Taiwanese musicians, but I like them very much. I will also list them below:

Mong Tong , recommended works: " Orientations " and " Mystery ".

Cheng Daoyuan , recommended work: " 旣 Apeiron ".

Elephant Gym (Elephant Gym) , recommended work: " Angle ", in addition, Elephant Gym will release a new album " Dreams " on May 11, and there are currently several songs available for audition on soundcloud.

Finally, I recommend the video of Wu Records' tour of Taiwan in 2017.
