Insight article published | Inspiration from an exhibition

Thanks for the appreciation of Insight News, I am so glad that my original article was invited to be published for the first time!

This time I tell my story purely through words and art...

Are you willing to let go of your body and think about life? Image: Inspired by Distance, Photographer: Darren Wong

Maintaining a social distance of 1.5 meters and re-examining the "connection" between people is the key word in Hong Kong today.

I have experienced a lot in 2020. My entrepreneurial team has been disbanded, my work income has been reduced, work has been suspended, interpersonal problems have arisen, and I have lost the hard work I have built in the past three years... Even so, the epidemic has made me determined to change and renew my career. Think about life and plan for the future.

Breakthroughs require infinite courage, and rebirth is to start anew and look forward to achieving a better self.

During Christmas last month, I visited the "Merry Apart Christmas Together" exhibition by PMQ in Central. The artist who created this exhibition was inspired by the new crown epidemic, with eight simple Christmas trees, each one metre away from each other. The distance, expressing "the world is freezing, through the mask, through the air, can still send blessings, where there is love, there is no distance, let people re-examine the connection between "distance" and people."

Breakthrough requires infinite courage, but if you can break through your own inherent frame and start again, you will have new discoveries.

The world is often attracted to each other, what you are thinking, God will give you...

In the past, I used to talk about a lot of environmental issues and theoretical analysis in words, but now I hope to break through my own inherent framework and explore sharing my feelings from a more artistic and aesthetic perspective.

This was the first time I picked up an SLR camera and recorded this image, and it inspired me to think about distance and connection. I found that the relationship between people depends on the quality of the social circle, and I also reflect on how people and nature should coexist, how the future of social and economic development can go further, and whether there will be new changes in the way of life.

Whatever you are thinking, God will give you. Unexpectedly, an exhibition allowed me to learn to see the world from another angle and gain new inspiration.

Maybe you will find that in the past year, some people can maintain their interaction and relationship with each other even if they meet less often; but some people even see each other often, the relationship between each other is gradually alienated, and even has a sense of strangeness. so close and so far.

How did you feel about the distance between you and the people around you last year?

In any case, cherish the people you think are important, you don't need a lot of quality social circles, just connect with people who are worthy of your friendship.
